Musical Autonomy Mods

Updated for Patch 1.30

By default, Sims will autonomously use instruments if they have at least 2 skill points for that particular instrument. If you want to be more specific about which Sims will practice independently, this mod can help. It comes in three versions:

No Autonomous Instruments
Stops Sims from autonomously playing instruments. This includes the piano, guitar, violin, pipe organ, portable keyboard, and singing. You'll need City Living for singing and the portable keyboard, and Vampires for the pipe organ. Club gatherings, buskers, and entertainers are unaffected.

Autonomous Instruments For Music Lover Only
Only Music Lovers will play instruments or sing autonomously. Club gatherings, buskers, and entertainers are unaffected.

Autonomous Instruments For Music Lover/Creative Only
Music Lovers and Creative Sims will play instruments or sing autonomously. Club gatherings, buskers, and entertainers are unaffected.

Because the package files have been separated by instrument, you can pick and choose different instruments from different versions (ex: No Autonomous Guitar and Music Lover Only Piano can be used at the same time), or use one instrument and leave the rest as-is. Choose only one version for each instrument. Alternatively, you can use a merged file, which includes all instruments, but only use one version at a time. As with all autonomy mods, the trait-specific versions have been more difficult to test. Please let me know if you run into any problems!

Add-Ons
Autonomous Serenade
To Serenade autonomously, Sims must now have at least 5 points in the Singing skill, and must have one of the following traits: Music Lover, Creative, or Romantic. Instrumental serenades (violin, guitar, piano) have also been enabled for autonomy and have similar requirements. If you want to disable autonomous Serenading entirely, use Candyd's excellent mod here.

Compatibility
This mod was made and tested with game version 1.29.69.1020. It overrides the following XMLs, and may conflict with mods that edit the same files:
