Heterochromia is a condition in which the eyes are different colors.

This is a set of accessory eyes that cover Sims' eyes – left or right. They move and behave just like normal eyes.

The version released on 10 Dec 2017 causes serious problems when you try to change the appearance of your Sim. If you use it, follow the steps in the Upgrading to the new version section.
Updates
13 Dec 2024: Added a mannequin color to the base game color pack.

Properties
  • available for both genders and all age groups except babies,
  • can be found in the glasses section,
  • layerable – you can use them also with other accessories and glasses,
  • available in 14 colors:
    • base game: brown, green, gray, dark blue, light blue, alien, mannequin,
    • EPs:
      • Nightlife: vampire,
      • Pets: lycan, lycan alien,
      • Seasons: plantsim, wilted plantsim,
      • Bon Voyage: bigfoot,
      • Free Time: genie.
  • polygon count: each mesh has 9 faces and 9 vertices.
The colors in this pack use the in-game textures. You need an expansion pack (or just the base game) that contains the texture of a particular color to be able to see it properly.
If you have default replacement eyes or supernatural skin textures, these accessories will use them instead of using the Maxis textures.
Customization
You may create your own custom colors in Bodyshop.

Upgrading to the new version
If you're using the version released on 10 Dec 2017, please upgrade it by following these steps:
  1. Redownload and reinstall all heterochromia accessory files you use.
  2. Ask the creators of custom recolors you use to update them. Here's the update procedure:
    • open a recolor file in SimPE and edit each Mesh Overlay XML (XMOL) resource: change the value of override0subset from face to eye (in the Plugin View tab).
  3. Delete Accessory.cache from your game save folder (Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 or Documents\EA Games\The Sims™ 2 Ultimate Collection).
  4. Reapply the heterochromia accessories to the Sims who have been using them.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Known issues
  • These accessories may not adapt well to atypical eye shapes, causing overlap or iris deformation.
  • They move in CaS even though they shouldn't,
  • The supernatural colors may look wrong if you use default replacements for supernatural skintones that prevent Sims from changing their eye colors (e.g. Vampire Default Skin Replacement V.2. miska).
