Hi everyone !
Gertrude Durnford (1732-1807), married in 1753 to Sir Rowland Alston, was painted by Gainsborough in Bath, a famous English water town, where the aristocracy used to meet. The frame, French, was designed to surround a portrait of Madame de Pompadour, as indicated by the small towers that dot it.
This portrait was realized between 1761 and 1762 by the English painter Thomas Gainsborough (1727-1788). It is currently on display at the Mus?e du Louvre, Paris.

Happy Simming !
Jim
