CHANGES
2025-01-15 - Updated the higher gain to 4 from 5 in the LunarBritney_SlowerSoulsJourneyGain file as playing more and more I found myself annoyed heavier tasks didn't reward as much. Also lowered the Large gains that I found out come from completing Spa Day aspirations or Midlife Crisis ones. Plus some fixes like werewolf goals requiring moonwood in code actually require glimmerbrook, just wild mistakes Maxis made.

ABOUT
I wanted a core system that had "lifetime" goals for sims to complete and get rewards. Soul's Journey in Life & Death provided everything but the longevity of the progression. So now I made the rewarded points way lower to try and slow it down. I might lower it even more or go through the goals to determine which ones deserve higher points and which not (because listening to liked music should not be weighted the same as reaching your home value to 250K)

You can use both mods together as they both do separate things!

  • Bucket list goals DEFAULT: 5 | MODDED: 4
  • Aspiration goals DEFAULT: 2.5 | MODDED: 1
  • Want goals DEFAULT: 0.5 | MODDED: 0.25
All levels are 5 points each to reach

Sims with the burning soul, death perspective, and ghost traits will now give far less minimal point increases as simply being a ghost you could just FIRE through the entire journey.

Seriously such a needed game-changer. The game is full of ridiculous meaningless tasks, so having fewer but more heavy goals is a breath of fresh air!

NOTES
Please leave some feedback if you think some goals are not as rewarding as they should be as most of the goal-lowering choices were made on estimated length/accessibility in vanilla gameplay.
