This lot is a recreation of the Moorish Revival Medinah Temple in Chicago, Illinois! It was constructed in 1912 for the Shriners Masonic Society, and was a popular recording space for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. After nearly a century as a masonic gathering space, the building was extensively renovated to house a Bloomingdale's department store, and more recently, became a temporary home to Bally's Casino until a larger, more permanent space could be constructed down the road.

As you'll probably notice from the pictures, this building looks neither like a casino, nor a department store. This is because I wanted to take more inspiration from what the building was originally intended to be, and followed the original floorplans as closely as I could.

Some exceptions were made, however. There is no basement, as that would require a crazy amount of lot editing, and the fourth floor is empty because I couldn't figure out an elegant way to make a two-story Gallery level. All this to say, I think as-is this lot is large enough. I left the second story back area as storage/flexible space in case there's something secret you want to add in yourself.

The floorplans, along with archived news stories and very nice architectural descriptions can be found here if you're interested in learning more about the building: https://chicagology.com/skyscrapers/skyscrapers085/

Here's to hoping after Bally's moves out this building can find a more permanent tenant: it's a very unique and special piece of architecture for Chicago.
