Cute indeed!

Say, did you check if your sims can use this double bed? If they can that's a really neat trick you've used there .. i'm just asking because in my own game, sims have got stuck in beds under sloped ceilings, but they were positioned differently I believe (not sure anymore, it's been a while).

Also, seeing as you've already put windows in your basement: do you know that if you'd make the foundation 2 clicks higher the sun would come in through the windows? Try it if you haven't already, it makes basements look much nicer in my eyes.

Yes, I'm playing this one now and they can use the bed w/ no problems. It's set in a shed dormer so it doesn't really have a sloped ceiling. I use a lot of shed dormers to get enough space upstairs for a bed. You can see that on some of my other homes.

Making the foundation 2 clicks higher...I'm guessing you do that with level terrain, similar to the half-height upstairs trick?

"Shed dormer" -- is that a Pets/Seasons thing? My game doesn't seem to have those (unless I'm blind) .. or do you fabricate them yourself?

If you want to do it afterwards (when the house is already built), yes. (It's actually surprisingly easy to move an entire house up or down after the fact -- only if you have stages somewhere in the house you need to remove them first: stages+cfe false = crash to desktop.

If you do it right from the beginning it's much simpler: make a small 2-click hill before you build anything (with the terrain raising tool), drag your foundation from the top of that little hill, flatten the ground again. Voilà, 6 tile high foundation.

Have fun =)

(Hopefully you don't think I want to lecture you =) .. to me it just looks like you enjoy building the same things that I do)

A shed dormer is just one of these dormers - like any other dormer but with a low, sloping roof.
You build it just like you'd build any other from-scratch dormer, but then put on the roof that's furthest to the left in the roofs.
When you first put it on it will be way too tall and wacky-looking, so just use "individualroofslopeangle" to give it a better slope. I use anywhere from 15-35 depending on what looks good on the house. This house used 3 shed roofs with steeper slopes to add usable space upstairs (including space for a bed).

Oh, that's so obvious now that you've pointed it out. I'll be trying that in my next house for sure. :lovestruc

Oh not at all!! Honestly, I've been a huge fan of your homes, especially the backdoor lane series. You make buildings that are attractive both inside and out with functional rooms - not too big, not too small, just really effective use of space. It's the same thing I aim to accomplish.
