Sounds good! I hate having to spend 3 sim days killing off 45 unwanted dorm buddies!

Couldn't you just lock your door? Or will this only prevent people from doing hw?

Yea, why wouldent you just lock your door. When I lock it no one can come in, every one does their home work in the study or cafatiria. :werd:

 Thanks dizzy! I'll try this as soon as I get a chance to get my compy up and running, probably sometime later. I think this is what I wanted! :D

Well, I complained about being somewhat forced to lock my dorm room in order to prevent this, but not wanting to because I otherwise enjoy :insane: the company of dormies and visiting sims who sometimes try to join me in my room. Or... if I call over other sims to join me in my room, I have to unlock the room again so they can enter. I sorta prefer the freedom and flexibility of not necessarily having to lock my room so my playable sims can be more social, but yet it should make sense that other sims shouldn't be barging into your room and intruding just to use YOUR DESK to do Their homework, simply because it is functional due to being visible. :P

Anyways, thanks for the quick response dizzy! I'll definately try it out and report back any problems, if any.

I've been playing with this for a while, and a dormie actually came in the room and sat in the chair of my sim's desk, but then they got up to do their homework elsewhere. I'd say it looks like it works.

Ok, I've been playing for a bit recently, and it seems to work. So far so good. :thumb: And... I did have a few sims come in, sit at my desk and not do anything. They'd just sit there and stare.... pretty creepy, especially since it usually happens when my playable sim is sleeping or taking a nap. So... yeah, my dormies are kind of creepy and stalky. *shudders*

Anyhew... I did have one instance, however, where a dormie came inside, sat at the desk, stared at my sleeping sim, then they got up, stood there for a while, and then decided to do their homework in my room. Mind you, they didn't use the desk, which is Definately a step up, but it was funny, because they STILL decided to do their homework IN my room, but this time it was on the floor in front of the desk. Heheh.

This isn't so bad of problem really, since I mostly just wanted my sim's desk to be only used by my sim. It was annoying for my sim to not be able to go to his room and sit as his desk to do his homework because some dormie's homework was left unfinished on HIS desk. So, it seems that this has prevented that from happening. My sim's desk has been clutter free and unoccupied by dormie homework, so I consider that a definate success! I just found it funny and odd that a dormie still did their homework on my bedroom floor.

Anyways, I'm not complaining, just reporting back my experience. Again, thanks dizzy for the great hack and fast work, I truly appreciate it! :D

Hehe. That's great. :D

Yeah, the guardian only guards desks and tables in the sim's room. The floor is still fair game. :P

I'm gonna try this out. It would be nice not to have to lock the door just so my sims can have a desk to themselves. Thanks.

Will the dormies sleep in your sim's bed if the door is unlocked?

I don't think dormies sleep. They hide in their room and stand when you're not looking. You could probably sell their beds if you got low on money. :P

Actually I do sell their beds. Maybe it was the other playable sims I was thinking about. They will sleep in almost any bed when they are tired.

Just a quick reply, my Sims always use the cafeteria tables for their homework and they always have without any prompting from me which is fine by me because they are almost always joined in this action by other dormies and satisfy their social needs in the process. I always use the desk in their room for a computer now, so they have one where they can write their term paper. I have not yet had a problem with other dormies using the computer in my sims dorm rooms when I have another computer in one of the community rooms for them.
