Questions:
1.) Will this affect the downloaded custom lots in my bin?
2.) When I place a lot down and change my mind and put it back in my lot bin, (without anyone having lived in it of course) a copy appears. That didn't used to happen when I had base game only. Will this mod also affect those copies?
3.) After doing number 2 above, I used the lot in a totally different town. (sometimes ending up with multiple copies of the same lot with different addresses) Will that mess my game up? (might have nothing to do with your mod but I was curious. lol)

YAY!!! Congrats!

It WILL affect the other lots in your LotBin (downloaded or otherwise) if the lot has the same number.
Since these lots share the same number as the EAxis original lots - I would put them in first, then renumber your other CC lots so everything fits in the folder.

If a lot is in your LotBin, then you can place it in any hood you want. That's how the game was designed.

Depending on how you have it installed (and if your not replacing the whole set,) then...

...add it (cx_00000007,) to your LotCatalog
For the UC, that is here - C:\Users\...\Documents\EA Games\The Sims™ 2 Ultimate Collection\LotCatalog

...and to your ProgramFiles base game install folder
For the UC, that is here - C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Double Deluxe\Base\TSData\Res\UserData\LotCatalog

...and let it overwrite the current file.

For the Programs Files installation method, why do we have to delete the files already in that folder, instead of merging or copying over?

Because the names are the same. Sometimes 'merging' doesn't do a complete job, and you will get a mess.
Don't forget to make a back-up of your originals!
