This little starter cottage would look good in an English countryside type neighborhood such as the one Downton Abbey is in. (See Zarathustra's recreation: There need to be village houses and businesses to go along with the main manor. Highclere Cottage is a one bedroom, one bath starter home with eat-in kitchen and cozy parlor with fireplace. It is under 20,000 because of cheap cc (not cheap in quality, Lady Angel!) Your starting Sim will have all of the skill items as well as phone and fire alarm. My test sim, Calista Dayton, is working on logic while she tries to find a job in the science field. She hasn't met anyone from the Abbey yet, but then she just moved in. Cheerio!

Test sim's hairstyle is by lidiqnata who also has some great clothes for Downton Abbey:

The lot also includes a new mesh by me, Cafe Curtains, polygon count 1900.

Basic Download and Install Instructions:

1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.

2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.

3. Install: Double-click on the .sims2pack file to install its contents to your game. The files will automatically be installed to the proper location(s).
  • You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.

How very English! I like it! And I'd love to see the neighborhood it's part of too! (thanks for the plug, BTW! )

I have a vacation neighborhood called The Isles that I downloaded the custom terrain for from MTS. Most of the lots come from finds like this one also from MTS. It is one of my favorite destinations in real life also. I know just the gentleman to purchase this delightful vacation home.

Your Downton Abbey is inspiring! I love the English countryside, the exact opposite of our Arizona countryside. They have lush green and we have dry beige. Of course dry beige is beautiful too. Thanks for commenting.
