LOTTYPE: residential / home business
LOTSIZE: 5x4
FURNISHED: partly
PRIZE:§446.978
This building represents a living area of the lower and lower middle class of Victorian London. The street level of the building is filled with stores and workshops, whereas the owners live above their shops.
In this Street you find:
a bakery
a dressmaker
a barber and a doctor
a food and retail shop
a canteen and bar.
I tried to capture the feeling of a place like they must have existed by the tenth or hundredth in Victorian London, with as little CC as possible.
Some things are modern, due to this restriction, and to keep it playable.
But there are no telephones and fire alarms! (If you want to play, you probably have to install a telephone somewhere)
On the second floor three out of five apartments are furnished.
The third floor I left untouched, it is accessible and can be used to meet the players wishes.
The basement was used for storage in those times, important: coal!
Behind the building your Sim has access to gardens to grow vegetable. There are apple trees and small sheds for chicken or pigs.
For this project I designed
6 darkened brick walls (industrial air pollution)
1 terrain (coal)
1 recolor of a shelf (in extra file)
1 recolor of a picture by me (in extra file)
I also included
and feeEssen's Chimney Stove (http://www.sims2-feeessen.de/)
Tip: To achieve the cobble stone street look, as shown in the picture:
- turn on the MoveObjects cheat
- pick up the design of the floor tiles in front of the house, using the eyedropper tool
- drag across the street
- don't forget to turn off the cheat again.
