Sears Homes - The Bellewood (by request)

I did not build this lot in AnyGameStarter so unless you had all the expansion packs installed, it will crash your game, I'm so sorry for this mishap.

Sears Homes is my series of homes that were designed by Sears, Roebuck and Co. From 1908 to 1940, Sears, Roebuck and Co. issued catalogues with house designs in them. Customers would choose a home and mail their request to the company. The company would then send all the supplies ordered (pre-cut lumber, lighting, doors, etc.) and the customer would build their own home! Now as I've said before I love more simple, classic homes and these are exactly that so you can imagine my excitement upon finding these lots. I was so excited in fact, I ordered three books filled with these homes so be prepared for a lot of homes in this series!

This lovely little home was requested by Loriendriel Loving who had found the Sears plans online and had fallen in love with this small home so I was only happy to help by building it for her.

This lot is entitled The Bellewood, first published in 1931. The following is an excerpt from a catalogue describing the lot:

The Bellewood is another happy combination of a well laid out floor plan with a modern attractive exterior. This design is an adaptation of a small English cottage. Exterior walls are planned to be covered with gray prestained clear red cedar shingles. The graceful manner in which the front gabled roof curves over the vestibule gives this home an unusually inviting entrance. Careful grouping of the windows and batten-type shutters also add to the exterior.
