Here's my final pack of spaniels (to see the other two, visit my profile). Included are three breeds, the American Water Spaniel, the Field Spaniel and the Kooikerhondje (and no, I don't know how to pronounce that. If anyone else knows, please let everyone else know!).

The American Water Spaniel originated in Wisconsin in the 1800's. It hunts and retrieves, and is known for its friendly and intelligent nature.

The Field Spaniel comes from England, though other than that certainty the breed's history is a bit murky. It is one of the largest spaniels, averaging 18 to 25 kilograms (that's 40 to 50 lb).

The Kooikerhondje originated in the Netherlands, and is one of the oldest spaniels still in existence, with evidence indicating its ancestors may go far back as the 1600's.
