When I got Apartment Life I became so enthralled with the witchy aspect of the game but those drab sisters that came with Belladonna Cove were just so uninspiring. Of course I was going to send them off to oblivion, but I did know I was going to miss the idea of having the bad witch and good witch sister storyline.

Well what more inspiration could I need for a new exciting pair of sisters than those two look-alike rival cousins from Bewitched, the original Serena and Samantha. Serena--that naughty minx whose zest for life and fun-loving sense of mischief was always the bane of her stodgy, upstanding cousin's existence could really shake up my town. Poor Samantha, loaded with beauty and sex appeal but saddled with a lack of vision or sense of adventure would be a very interesting study in contrast.

So I came up with my own version of their story. In my Belladonna Cove, they are twin sisters, both unmarried, and sharing a very mod 60's house. Serena is a fun loving Taurus set to the Pleasure Aspiration and Samantha is a serious studious Pisces knowledge sim. Serena is not exactly a bad witch, but she does tend to put the poultry spell on people a lot!

The funny thing is when I finally purged out my prototypes and settled on my final Samantha and Serena, unlike the previous pairings of the two--all was NOT peaceful. Right from the start, for no apparent reason, Serena kept going up and poking Samantha in the shoulder and making her cry. I had a heck of a time getting them to be civil enough to take pictures of them! It was hilarious!

I didn't try to submit these as celebrity sims because they are only inspired by the TV characters and not exact copies. There is already a very stunning official Bewitched Samantha sim on this site and there's no way in a million years I could make a better match than that.
I was just trying to capture sort of a caricature of each so I could be reminded of the original series dynamic between the two ladies without feeling constrained to replicate it.
For Serena I focused on a wicked expression to the eyes and that mod fashion sense. For Samantha I wanted to highlight the widow's peak and unique arched eyebrows.

Some interesting factoids about these particular sims:

They are NOT the same. In other words, I didn't just put two different skins and sets of makeup on the same sim. To get the somewhat mischievous pixie look of Serena I had to make a facial sculpt unique to her character and to work with the makeup I wanted to use. The skintones are different, too, and the Samantha one has eyebrows on the female Adult and teen faces.

The hairlines are part of the skin for Female Adult and Female Teen, too, not a separate mask, and the hair continues a little bit over to the scalp. This has some positives and some drawbacks. The positive feature is that with a suitably matching hair, you can have a very seamless and pretty integration of the hair to a realistic looking hairline. This is a feature I've been experimenting with for a long time, and I think if this gets approved, it will be my first (successful) release of such a skintone. It's a neat way to add character to a sim and make it unique.

You all are more than welcome to dissect this aspect of the skintone and use it to make your own hairline masks or your own versions of skintones that have integrated hairlines. I placed hair on the scalp part of the skintone in a distribution that worked best for the hairstyles I use the most. The hairline looks fine with the Maxis witch hats.

The drawbacks are that such a skintone simply does not work with some hairstyles. Some have hairlines that over-ride the color of the scalp on your skintone. Others just plain look odd. And since there are so many variations of elder hairs I didn't try to put a gray hairline on the Female Elder skintones.

Both skins are based on my Rensim K series. Serena is Rensim Lite KC and Samantha's was based on Rensim Rosy KB.

What you get:
Both ladies come with the short witchy dresses shown. On Serena that would be the hot pink dress. Samantha has a deep ruby one. These are recolors of the amazing Featured Witchy Clothes Goth Style dress by Sherahbim: http://linna.modthesims2.com/download.php?t=253051 and the fabulous mesh by Reisuru is included as per her terms: http://linna.modthesims2.com/member.php?u=897963

Samantha's hair is a custom recolor on a Maxis base game mesh.

Samantha will come to you looking as shown in the photo detailing what you get.

For Serena to look like she does in the photos of her in the hot pink dress, you will need to download a full hairstyle as listed under additional credits and download the false eyelash mesh by PeggySims, also listed.

Serena's short pixie hairstyle is by Fanseelamb: http://nene.modthesims2.com/download.php?t=303171 It does NOT come with the sim and must be downloaded. Serena is packaged with Maxis base game hair so she will be viable regardless of hair mesh availability.

The false eyelashes look is enhanced by this Accessories mesh: http://www.peggyzone.com/html/EN/Item20506__.html I hope that link works but if not, it is from http://www.peggyzone.com and then you look for it under accessories in the Free section.

The long side part hairstyle on both ladies is a free hairstyle by http://helgasims.com/ on page 13 of that site.

Samantha has one ponytail style showing off her hairline and that is by Nouk and from this site: http://www.noukiesims2.net/ The site is offline for reworking but when it comes back it is the rockabilly style.

Most jewelry shown is Maxis Bon Voyage jewelry but some of the jewelry shown was part of the clothing. However Serena is wearing a necklace earrings accessory combo with her wild patterned minidress by Barcelonista from this site: http://www.justsims2.ru/

And speaking of that dress, it's from http://www.lianasims2.net/ and it's now a free release of an earlier donation package.

THANK YOU VERA MARINA for coming to my rescue with the missing files! Luv You!
