Beverly: Modeling Custom FX2 Series Skintone and Custom Eyes

Hi, I'm sorry I know some people said they were waiting for me to upload my FX skintones update. It's been a rough road--I am blinded pretty badly from a severe infection of the tissue surrounding both my eyes. Fortunately all of the creative work was done before my condition really deteriorated so it's just a matter of struggling to see enough to upload the finished product, and my left eye did respond to medication enough I can see out of it clearly again. Eventually when my husband can find time to take off of work and help me, I'll get surgery. I hope that will help some with the right eye.

Well enough about me, as if you folks don't have your own problems...this is my model, Beverly. She is showing off my FX2 Tan skintone. I know, I know--that's one heck of a dark tan. Sorry about the name. After everything I've been through recently I honestly can't even remember the goof up that caused me to name this skin, "tan", instead of brown or black or dark or something more accurate. Update: The skintone has been improved for males and teen females have a smaller breast size more like pre-teen average. And I also renamed the skintone to MEDIUM BROWN which suits the color better. However I have kept the name of Beverly's file the same so as to not lose my statistics.

I think probably because originally the skin was more like a tan caucasian or latino coloring, and then midway through I experimented and darkened it. Plus, I actually have a MUCH darker skin than this one and to me that was THE skin I was planning on debuting as my dark skintone. I was trying to make it as dark as my friend's skin tone, but I'm having problems with it showing odd moire patterns or artifacting in the game. I'm sure there's a tutorial out there somewhere that will help me fix that, but until I can see enough to work more on it, this will be the darkest skin I can offer.

Beverly also has a custom eye color. I'm really thrilled with my last 2 batches of eyes and I wish I could release them as a seperate set--maybe when I'm better.

Bev herself is not of my own making. She is the product of a breeding project I did goofing around with a couple of my models in CAS and she was one child that was so "real" I just had to try and save her out as a seperate creation...thanks to SimPE. SimPE tends to glitch my game but I risked it and got this girl I never could have sculpted myself. I just love her nose--there's kind of a hook or bump to it that I have seen in real life but I wouldn't have known how to sculpt properly in BodyShop. I hope you'll love Bev as much as I do. She loves games and is a bit of a nerd girl. She studies hard at being a good witch but kind of likes to dress like a bad witch!

She is shown with absolutely no makeup on--unless you count eyebrows as makeup-- because I was so happy and proud how nice and realistic her lip color and texture turned out. I worked pretty much forever to get that right that I wasn't about to cover it up with lipstick! I was actually inspired to color match this skin to the layerable nose makeup by Three Hundred: http://www.modthesims2.com/download.php?t=303275 Those nose masks in the darkest shade look fabulous with Bev's skintone. I think it may have been that nose mask that incited me to darken whatever skin I was working on and get this particular shade of brown skin.

I also have another version of this brown skin with a different nose shape that was definitely inspired by Threehundred's work and I hope to be able to upload that work soon, too. That tone is part of my "Glow" series of skins. Anyway, isn't it cool how we inspire each other here...gotta love the modding community!

Important notice about this file after MTS2 server crash. This is NOT the same sim as originally posted. This one is wearing an improved and final version of the FX2 skintone, which shall soon be uploaded as a skin set. I don't remember if I changed the Adult Female aspect of the skin, I think I lowered the top of the cleavage a little tiny bit. More noticeable is the reduction to the Teen female breasts. And improvements to male adult face.
