The Maxis Wood Floor Restoration Project, Part Deux
And now here we are, almost two years later, and I've since completed my EP/SP collection...and Apartment Life gave us a few nice wood floors, and Bon Voyage threw another that I like into the pot, too. Plus, there are a couple of older ones that I've since re-evaluated and decided that I like well enough and that I wanted more/better colors of and...Well, here we are.
So I bring you: The Maxis Wood Floor Restoration Project, Part Deux.
There are six recolored/retextured floors this time. Each of them comes in the same 20 woody colors I've used for build stuff since way back when. So yes, campers, you have the potential to acquire 120 new wood floors here, God help you. (Oh, who am I kidding? God help ME!
So, here are the ones we've got this time. These pics show each floor in all of the colors, one tile of each color, but I only labeled the colors once. They're in the same alphabetical order on each pic, so you should be able to figure it out.
Here you go:All of the above pics were taken in indoor lighting. If you put these floors outside, say on a deck, the colors will look different, of course. And, for further reference, here's a collage of each floor style showing multiple tiles of the Saddle color, so you can get a general idea of what a floor looks like when decked out in each of these styles:
Most of these have been edited to some degree, some more than others. Like, I've removed nail holes because I don't like them. Or I've made them either more or less distressed-looking, whichever I needed them to be for my own evil purposes. Or I've made their graining either more or less prominent. But two of them I left exactly as is and just stripped 'em of their original colors and then replaced 'em with mine.
Note #1: The Heatonism floor recolors will coordinate with these walls I made over here, for which I used the matching Heatonism walls as a base. So, if you have those and might want to use the floor with them, there you go. Do note, however, that I retextured the floors such that they'll coordinate with BUT NOT EXACTLY MATCH the walls in terms of color variation and such because, really, it looks kind of odd if that matches exactly. So, there is less color variation in the flooring and, generally speaking, the flooring picks up the lighter shades that are in the walls because otherwise you'd end up with a rather dark room. I attached a pic of the Weathered Cayenne color in a room with the matching wall (And a matching window, too, because...Hey, why not?) so that you can see what I'm talking about. So, if you'd be interested in using both pieces together, there you go. (Doing so might not be the best of all possible ideas in all cases, however, particularly so with the darker colors.
)Note #2: The original set of floors that I made were made BEFORE I kept a standardized list of color hex codes. In other words, their colors are "eyeballed" and, as such, sometimes the matching with later stuff is a little bit off, some colors/styles more so than others. One day, I will go back and re-do them, when I'm in the mood for another batch of tedious, repetitive HomeCraftering.
But this set, of course, benefits from the standardized color list, so they'll better match all of the other stuff I've made, if you're into that sort of thing.I RAR'ed each of the six floors separately, so you can pick and choose what you want. (Sorry that the "One Large Plank" one is so big; its texture image is four times the size of the others... :/ ) Each RAR contains the 20 colors plus a collection file so that you can find these more easily when you want 'em. All the files are Compressorized, even though it only knocks a couple of kilobytes off of walls/floors. Every byte counts, right?
And there you have it. If you're as obsessed with wood floors as I am...Well, between this download and its predecessor I sincerely hope that you have enough of 'em to keep you happy for a good long time. Because God knows I don't have plans to make any more of 'em.
