Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson was born on October 25, 1984. She was raised in a very strict Christian household in Santa Barbara, California.
She had limited exposure to secular music during her childhood and pursued a career in gospel music as a teenager.
She first recorded a self titled gospel album, but by 2008, She had changed her last name, switched to pop rock.
Her first single "I Kissed a Girl" hit airwaves in May of 2008
