Hayseed Farm (The Sims: Bustin' out)

Hayseed Farm has been a project of mine for quite a long time (on and off again, including just the conceptualisation stages). Hayseed Farm is a major location in 'The Sims: Bustin' Out' for Handheld Consoles. Here, your Uncle Hayseed takes you in and let's you stay in his barn while you find your feet around SimValley. To repay the deed you may spend your spare time collecting his lost poultry, or mowing the weeds in his over-grown lawn. He may be a bit grouchy, but Uncle Hayseed is your first support network- and you'll need him!



The Sims: Bustin' Out was a large part of my childhood and Sims obsession and I'm so glad to finally be able to bring you Hayseed Farm! The main house consists of a loungeroom, Kitchen/ Dining, Bathroom and Bedroom and the Barn has a bathroom on the ground floor and a multi-purpose bedroom in the roof. Around the property you'll find many roosters, overgrown weeds and some unexplained mysteries inside Uncle Hayseed's barn...

Now for any of those of you who have played the game, you will notice I've had to 'flesh out' the interior a bit more than I would have liked to. Unfortunately, whilst Uncle Hayseed didn't need a lot of possessions to be happy- the Farmhouse looks a bit bare without some added bonuses! I originally made the house with only what was in the original game, but I've added some decorations and taken a bit of fun creative licence in order to have the house a bit more liveable for your Sims!


I've playtested the house and it seems to go down a hoot with no issues! Some items were placed/ altered with cheats... So don't go messing around in build mode
I've attached images from the original game just so you can see that they really are quite similar in terms of layout, and I did my best at matching the furniture to the original! It is always a really fun challenge trying to recreate a lot from a different game, especially one like Bustin' Out where you can't zoom out to see the whole lot at once (and some parts of the lot, never seen at all).

So what now? Will you move in your own Uncle Hayseed and have him build up the farm, or has Old Hayseed's time passed and you're ready for a new generation of farmers to get a taste of the country? It's totally up to you, and I'd love to know what you do with the lot!
I'd also love to know if anyone else loved the Gameboy Advance Bustin' Out, or would like anymore lots or sims from the game updated for TS4!
