After downloading fanseelamb's Maxis Outerwear as.... Outerwear! and Richi3frog's Maxis Athletic Wear as... Athletic Wear, I realized that Maxis gave us such beautiful formal outfits for toddlers. But NONE of them were actually flagged as formal wear!
And since I couldn't find any other mod that recategorizes the formal outfits into actual formal wears, I decided to create my own mod which recategorizes the formal outfits... and I thought I could submit it for MTS's monthly theme of Seasons & Celebrations, since formal outfits are all about celebrations at all... and it's still December, so we've got time for Theme catch-up.
Ever wanted to throw a fancy formal birthday party without having to change the everyday clothes' of your toddlers? Or you didn't like the very limited option of formal wears in-game? Now, things have changed!
To install, you can just put the file into your Downloads folder. BUT DON'T USE THE DELETE BUTTON IN-GAME! If you wish to remove the mod, do so outside the game. Otherwise, you'll mess up your game files. To prevent that from occuring, I recommend putting the file into your Bins folder.
By default it's C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Mansion & Garden Stuff\TSData\Res\Catalog\Bins
If you have The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection, it's C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSData\Res\Catalog\Bins
The file includes all the property sets of the clothes from various EPs/SPs... but if you're missing one of them, the mod will still work. It won't make the corresponding outfits from that EP/SP appear in-game, though. I've recategorized formal (at least, it occured formal to me) outfits from the The Sims 2 Base Game, Nightlife EP, Celebrations! Stuff Pack, FreeTime EP and also some outfits from Happy Holiday/Christmas Party Pack.
Update 01/02/2020: I've also included a version which HIDES the formal looking outfits from the everyday category and adds them into the formal category only. (The previous version kept the formal outfits in the everyday category). DON'T use them at the same time, since they'll conflict with each other.
Otherwise, have fun with this little mod and thanks for downloading!
