1920's Vintage Home Design ~ 1-click foundation, the Cambridge, 24th in the Series

The twenty-fourth house in my "1920s Series" - inspired by 62 Beautiful Vintage Home Designs from the 1920s - is a "pure example" of American Colonial architecture. It's "6 Rooms and Bath" include three large bedrooms, a spacious living room, dining room and kitchen - plus a full basement and a detached Carriage House garage. If this were my house, the first thing I would do is add a door to the right of the fireplace (that would go to the kitchen.) The original plan does not have a door there, so I did not put one there; and it really bugs me!

This lot has been adjusted with Mootilda's GridAdjuster to have a cute little 1-click foundation. AND it has a basement (a regular dug-out basement, not a no-slope/page-down-to-the-Nether basement.) It is also Big Dog approved. (Though you'll have to take my word on that... when you look through the pictures you'll see that Balin would rather play fetch outside with Herb Goodie, than stay inside long enough for me to take his picture. *le sigh*)


Please scroll through all the above pictures to see everything this house has to offer. Furniture for this house includes a double bed, and a dining table. Faith Goodie reminded me of the frugal nature of most New Englanders, and assured me that the basic appliances were all she needed in her kitchen. So, this kitchen includes the cheap basic stove and refrigerator, a trash chute, and a sink. As the original floor plan indicates - the telephone is on the wall by the front door. All appliances, plumbing and lighting are included. The front door is burglar alarmed. The range and fireplace have smoke alarms.


There are more routing/testing pictures at the end of all the attached pictures - everything works and is accessible. This is a clean copy of this house/lot; no sim has ever lived here. The package has been cleaned with Mootilda's Clean Installer. Pictures were taken with Invisible Fire Alarms in place, but the lot is packaged without that mod. So, you will see the fire alarm over the stove in the kitchen and over the fireplace in the living room. Pictures were also taken with the Invisible Driveway, but the lot is not packaged with it. I highly recommend both invisifying options! .

I use Niol/Moi's Roof Shader for brighter roofs
And, HW/Honeywell's A Little Greyer: Roof Trim Defaults
Then, if it's a Bespoke Roof recolor - it will be THESE adjusted versions by The Llama Park/Tumblr that you see used in the pictures.
(However, what you get in the packaged file, will either be the plain EA roof or the straight, un-modified Bespoke roof from the set here on MTS2.)
