This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Pets, Showtime, Supernatural, Seasons, University Life, Island Paradise
Default Error message before and after installing patch 1.9
I haven't played Sims3 in months. I went to play it yesterday and it won't run. I uninstalled all custom content and still nothing. I even uninstalled the game and reinstalled it. I ran the most recent patch (1.9) and that took several tries for that to work. I get this error message every time I try to launch the game (see screen shot). I also lose the items I download from the Exchange or Official Store - they won't load in the game and when I exit the launcher and reopen it, the items are gone from downloads and installed tabs. Please help. I don't have any expansion packs and I have Norton Anti-Virus. I run Vista 64bit.

Do you get the same error message if you Game_Help:TS3_Bypassing_the_Launcherwiki to play the game?

See Problem#6 in Game_Help:TS3_Patching:Common_Errorswiki

The strangest thing happened today - I still get the error message but then tried to run the game anyway and it worked - no glitches, all CC appeared, etc. So not sure what the error is about but it's not relevant... Thanks for the reply though! And I did previously follow the steps for patching. The error message appears no matter what.

Even after an uninstall and reinstall of EADM (as stated in the Solution for that Problem in that Wiki)?

BTW, what is your EADM version?

I confess I have no idea what version of EADM I have. I have noticed one glitch since playing again - my custom patterns and textures that I created and saved were all gone the next time I loaded. Haven't played a 3rd time to see if that happened again...

You can locate the version number in 2 ways.
1. After installation: hover over the EADM logo in upper left corner of the program window.

2. During installation: in bottom left corner of installer window.

Thanks for the info. I finally deleted the EADM and reinstalled. The actual EADM wasn't loading before - now it does. The launcher still is hit or miss - sometimes I can install package files, sometimes I can't.
