2 things last week:

Vampires are deadly afraid of fire dance, the showing kind and not the kind every Sim loves to do and deplete their Hygiene (though they are also deadly afraid of the latter). Once they stop cowering, they will run off like a scared little child!

The First Kiss interaction is also available on bed, and likely sofa. There isn't any difference from the usual peck kiss, however.

Speaking of vampires, I have worked on 4 new interactions for them to almost completion (big thanks to Nyami!), and enjoyed unleashing them on suspecting victims yesterday. Steal Aspiration score and make them fall asleep, even my own "drink blood" interaction can be rather unique!

The 4 new interactions are now available from my More Interactions for Vampires mod.

@simsample The Sims 2 blue theme is great. If I didn't have the dark one, I'd go back to blue. I've always wanted a blue version of Clean UI, though!

Don't use the Magnifier (Windows 10-11 accessibility feature) with Sims2. If your game goes wonky it can mess with your display - I got a "magnified" band across the top of the display that shoved the rest of the screen down so I had trouble saving and exiting. Tried various MS suggestions for getting rid of a split screen, but nothing worked until I turned the Magnifier OFF. Problem instantly solved, and has not recurred.

Using the Flirt -> Check Sim Out interaction changes not only the sex preference of the performing Sim, but also the target! Normally, I plan to use it to make a bisexual Sim as it incurs no STR nor status changes, but performing on one Sim enough times can completely subvert that Sim and potentially ruin their love life!

Sim can keep teaching a toddler the nursery rhyme way pass their motive failures... Unlike base game toddler skills where the toddler will simply cease being taught. Oh, and while toddlers can crawl to sleep on pet beds no matter how depleted their Energy bars are, if they are past the passing out/motive failure point, they will fail to sleep in the pet beds proper and resort to sleeping in front of it.

In an unmodded game, literally every romantic interaction changes orientation for both sims, there's nothing really special about the check sim out interaction. If you don't want that, you want to either mod the game so that doesn't happen, or just set your sims' orientations to high levels so that interactions can't affect them to any degree.

Thanks, but I just find the checking out a potentially devious move on top of being useful at adjusting a Sim's orientation without impacting the STR score.

I mean, you can use any number of mods to set sims' orientations to whatever you want them to be without affecting anyone's STR score.

If there was a slate theme with blue text, I'd use that. You used to be able to make custom themes here, don't know if that's still a thing? Maybe @Tashiketh or @HugeLunatic will know. There was a theme editor.

Not that many people actually used the theme editor, so I deprecated/discontinued it some time ago in favour of the default themes.

I learned that "spin with" on a skating rink is a romantic interaction. I wasn't too pleased when a pair of stepsiblings suddenly fell in love because of it.

I was disappointed in skating rinks when all social interactions they have are just Spin With... I want to give them an ability to chat in group like Neder's edit of the bubble blower, but I will be updating on restorable car first.

Are you missing the in-laws fix, or is the interaction actually not forbidden for family members?

I think the parents were only engaged and not married yet so technically they weren't official stepsibs. I use found family to prevent that now.

I discovered that if you can make a burglar playable they can still sneak.

I had a sim marry a burglar and she'd sneak around every time the kids were asleep. It was adorable.

I found that Raynuss's air conditioning ducts not only cool pixels off, but they also heat them up when they're cold.

Nice to know because I hate putting fireplaces in houses.

I learned that womrats can go "belly up," so to speak. I've always released them or sold the cage altogether so I've never seen one actually die before.

Yep. I've done it and it is cute. It's like they are so happy to be able to sneak again. ;3

Another cute thing about marrying a burglar is all that stuff in his inventory

You can actually gift an NPC something and when you marry them it will appear in their inventory. Im not sure how useful this is but if you gifted your future partner some flowers after dating them it would show up in their inventory when they move in.

i just discovered the wonderful world of driveway extensions and how cars are still useable even if driveways are blocked and there are no garage doors.
why I only knew or played around with this now, I'll never know.
maybe it's because I'm a driver now and I've been thinking of nicer ways to park a car. yeah i think that's it xD

That sims can get furious after loosing the darts game.
Caroline Flores was rather angry at her sister's girlfriend for about five minutes. Dropped it before the end of the dinner though.
