First of all, I'm sorry to have to open another thread, but I don't know what's going on with the butler, I don't know if it's a maxis error or if it can be fixed with some mod/fix... let's see, it's my lot of golden years sims, they're giving me headaches... first, poorly made romances and now that they can finally afford a butler, he calls the fire department every so often and there's no fire anywhere, I had to fire him (terminate services), and he kept calling until he left... Is this an error in my lot or is it a general game error that happens to more people? Thanks

I think you must have a mod that's causing this. The last time I had a butler on a lot where there was a fire, he never called the fire department and eventually caught on fire himself and died because he didn't stop trying to sweep up ashes.

If it was the police he kept calling then I'd ask if you had a retired burglar on the lot. XD

Is it possible that a tree was struck by lightning and set on fire? They usually burn themselves out by the time the fire department shows up and it's counted as a false call. Do you have the fix for the breadfruit tree that stops it being permanently on fire? http://cyjon.net/node/422

There's no breadfruit tree on that lot, there was no fire. I don't know why the butler called the fire department. I fired him, I don't know, I didn't install any new mods. I'll change the family, or I'll just have a maid. @kestrellyn The opposite happens to me. This guy calls the fire department all the time, there's no way he'll stop.

Yeah, so you'll have to do a binary search to see what mod is causing it to happen.

I've removed all the mods and hired the butler and it still does the same thing... is it a mod even if you remove it?... I'm thinking of changing the lot family, maybe it's something with the lot??

Maybe you have a stuck invisible fire tile on the lot somewhere. See if it still happens if you move the family onto a different lot. I'd suggest Pescado's stuck object remover, but you'd have to put them all over the lot because you don't know where a stuck tile might be.
