I want a slum apartment that doesn't cost a Sim $1000 a WEEK! This is so ridiculous. Where's the mod that lets me adjust the rent (or the cost of a residential lot). And it would be cool if I could hang a picture in the house that would make my neat sim uncomfortable, unhappy.

The florist's bench from Free Time lets you make snapdragon bouquets, and if they fail you get an "evil snapdragon bouquet" that has a green smoke effect and drains some of the sim's motives.

The only common things that reduce the environment significantly are food plates and untrimmed bushes without a mod or subdivision into rooms. Other items with crapness would do that too but few exist. People are sufficiently happy in an empty room without lamps or floor. I don't see why anyone would want poor environment intentionally. If someone leaves food plates out, they act like they have the worst possibly headache and waste time.

If you want a cheap house, fill it with depreciated furniture that will be about one third of the purchase price. To reduce the initial cost of the home further, set one object to negative value. The value will be clamped to normal at next midnight.
