Either or. Basically you play one 'hood and have different road types in the same hood/subhood instead of it being universally the same road style/textures throughout the entire hood you're playing.

I'm glad to hear it is technically possible, but my hope is someone will get inspired or motivated to look into figuring out how to streamline it. The newest SimPE versions allow you to delete and place roads, but they're limited to whatever terrain type you choose. In my head I'm imagining the same ability within SimPE, but with the added function of choosing which road texture for each piece you place down instead of it being universally locked to the chosen terrain type.

By the way, apologies if my word usage is confusing. I'm running on three hours of sleep.

So it is or isn't possible to have one road type for your dirt terrain in one subhood and another road type for lush terrain in another subhood, both in the same overall neighbourhood?

Forget about subhoods for a moment. Focus on one singular mainhood only for a moment. I'm going to use my (still WIP) Anywhere City as a demonstration for this explanation. Now in the image below you see it's using the concrete terrain, and with the concrete terrain comes concrete terrain roads, right? Well usually by vanilla default game behavior it's very much like in this image where the entire neighborhood is restricted to using the same road texture. But what if, say, I wanted the left side of the map to use lush terrain roads, and the right side of the map to use the dirt terrain roads while keeping the concrete terrain roads in the middle island and keeping the neighborhood using the concrete terrain base textures.

That's the best way I can explain my idea.

Well obviously that's what was meant, and I agree it would be nice. Maybe some sort of placeable overlay object, though it might get tedious to put down--maybe more like a dragged area or a large object that can be layered and puts the overlay on all roads?

Yes it was what I meant, but @Charity seemed to have difficulty understanding it, so I wanted to clarify for them.

As for the overlay object - The idea for that sounds nice in theory, but problem with an overlay is it would have to be positioned above the vanilla roads to avoid clipping and that would cause the overlay to 'float' in lot view when neighborhood decorations in enabled. Obviously we don't want that. I think the best solution is finding what hex values each road piece uses and then change the hex values for existing neighborhood roads so that the roads you change get 'tricked' by the game into being a road texture from a different terrain type.

Obviously I don't know what exact hex values would need to be changed, but I'm willing to learn and experiment. if someone wants to work with me and try to find a way to make this a reality, I'd be more than willing to be a test subject.

Ok, thanks. I was getting confused. I was imagining if you had Downtown as concrete and your main hood as grass.

That's how I would separate city/country.

I’d really love to see a Bankbook like the PC-Sims / Katy_76 one, but without the §20,000 limit. Something that can actually hold millions for long-term gameplay.

What I love about the Bankbook is how flexible it is: one Sim can have separate accounts for a business, personal savings, even a pet or inheritance. It makes the game feel more realistic instead of just pretending money exists somewhere.

It would also be amazing if each Bankbook could be named, so you instantly know what it’s for (business, household, legacy fund, etc.).
