There was a community gathering at the main park in Portland and the neighbourhood kids decided the end the day with a water balloon fight. Here's poor Väinö getting knocked off his feet by a wild throw. I wasn't able to figure out who the thrower was, but I suspect his sister. They're rather on the outs right now.

Wow, I've been playing these guys for 11 years, and as I've aged and matured it's gotten harder to bring myself down to the levels of madness and stupidity that characterised the first few years of it, while still keeping it bad enough to be funny.

@simsample Thank you friend! I would love to! but the rules say the image must be 1000x750, I would crop it but the rules also state no editing so I'm not sure if that falls under that or not

I'm pretty sure resizing/ cropping would have to be allowed, because most people don't have a screen resolution of 1000x750. I'll ask on the contest thread:

A few more trick or treaters!

Microsoft OneDrive (which, like fire, is a good servant but a bad master) gives me most days an "On this Day" feature, which selects pictures taken in previous years on today's date. Today it gave me this ten-year-old picture of Andrew dancing with little Hans Moltke. (Nearly all my pictures are pictures of Sims!)



When I saw it, I thought I'd like to submit to the calendar contest, but it's an old low resolution in-game picture, taken on my old netbook computer, and it's only 600x450 resolution. Well, there are still nearly two weeks left till the closing date for the contest, so I think I'll ask Andrew and Hans if they'll pose for the picture again. As I regularly play with "Aging off", they still look much the same. I'll maybe even ask them to dance in a room other than the bathroom! (Sims do seem to have a thing about bathrooms!) What I may not be able to do, is recapture the spontaneity of this original picture, which I'm sure was the result of Hans going up to Andrew (who of course was really there to visit his brother Julian), and saying, "Dance with me!" Often in those days, when Andrew was visiting Julian, he spent more time dancing Hans and Brigitte (who was also still a child back then), than he spent dancing with Julian! Andrew had had very little contact with younger children before then, but his contact with Julian's younger siblings was enough to make him realise that he actually liked children. So he now hopes that when he and Julian grow up and have finished university, they'll be able to adopt a child and give him/her (probably him) a loving home.

When Sarah McGuire finished her meal out with unemployed Veronaville paperboy Justus Bruenig at the One-Twenty-Five Café in downtown Veronaville it was 4:39 in the morning. As she prepared to 'phone for a taxi home, she glanced out of the window and was surprised to see . . .

Not half an hour later at 5:05 a.m. another townie child Peter Weir was spotted in exactly the same place.

Sarah couldn't help wondering why such young children were wandering the downtown streets in the early morning hours. Do we Veronavillians have a developing problem of feral children wandering our nighttime streets? Some of us are concerned.

Since I installed Peterskywalker!'s mod Children and teen townies always visit community lots, some eight years ago, I now get children even at nightclubs:

This was the scene at The Hub in downtown Veronaville a couple of days ago, when Andrew and Julian visited the club in the course of their Valentine's Day date. The children are (left to right) Brian Hudson, Martin Walters and Kayleigh Laing. Brian lives downtown with mum in a rather complicated household in the Custer Boulevard (so not that far from The Hub). Martin and Kayleigh are townie children. They do seem to be enjoying themselves!

Before I got Peterskywalker!'s mod I never saw children appear at nightclubs -- not even when Julian took his younger brother and sister along with him. The game seemed to "know" that they really weren't suitable places for kids. But with that mod, I get them all the time. I can't see any harm in them coming along and dancing, but I suppose they might see something that they really shouldn't see. Maybe I should think about banning them with the Visitor Controller from some of the more extreme venues.

I wonder if anyone could make a version of the mod that only allows them if there isn't a particular object on the lot, like the 'no pets' sign.
