You can do that in the main hood and all subhoods, too. Lodging, dorms, and apartments are the only lots that require zoning changes to change in build mode.

I'm not sure about that because I had to do a lot of zone changing, but I will check.

The first time this happened to me I was horrified. Poor girl got stoned to death in a hailstorm with no one around to save her from Grim. I'm told that if you resurrect a pregnant sim the pregnancy will continue as normal but I was too scared to try. I've read Pet Sematary, I know how this goes.

I thought so too, like babies. Of course I also, for whatever reason, thought children couldn't die either.... until a ghost (who died of fire) set her son's bedroom ablaze and he joined her in the afterlife.

I remember having a pregnant Sim starve on me before while trying to resolve multiple low motives (seriously, how did her Hunger, Bladder, Hygeine, and Energy motives all get that low, that quickly?! And no, I didn't save that death because really, game?). You most definitely thought wrong about that.

I discovered, not today actually, it was in May. Whatever, there is no way to kill sims (intended by maxis of course) on vacation. All the sims sites, all the reddit articles, all of AI answers - all lies.
There is NO any chance to kill sims. So sleep patient your sims lives are ander your control the same way as on any community lot. Until you have no special CC of course or a tombstone if Life and Death they are safe to rest.

I've learned (a few minutes ago) that Sims motor drivers can, at least sometimes, pay attention to the road in front of them. The carpool driver, Veronaville NPC driver Dagmar Bertino pulled up short when she saw Mallory Mace on the road in front of her, having a pillow fight with Doreen Capri. Normally the carpool drivers stop near the mailbox. I've so often seen Sims walk right through the taxi that they just arrived in, that I thought that Sim pedestrians always ignored road traffic, and that, in return, Sim drivers always ignored pedestrians!

But not so Dagmar Bertino. Today, she demonstrated the importance of paying attention. Mind you, Dagmar is a very experienced driver. None of my Sims have their own cars, and, because of my EPs, I don't have the "walk to" options. So Dagmar and her colleagues Jordan Fleig and Ralph Reamon have driven my Veronaville Sims almost everywhere they've ever been!!

P.S. I've also discovered something I've suspected for a while: two Sims can chat, while one of them is seated:
Here Mallory Mace (standing) is autonomously chatting with Helena Hudson, while both are visitors at Doreen Capri's house in Monopolis (a suburb of Veronaville) Helena is there as Doreen's girlfriend (and probable future partner.) Mallory is there as the local rep of Jones & Moltke the Veronaville builders, but she is also a friend of Doreen.

I had to be very careful taking this picture to comply with MTS picture rules. Helena isn't completely naked, but she's not far off it. Like some other female Veronavillians, Helena thinks she has a good enough figure that she doesn't need to wear a bra. That's all very well, but like most of my Sims, she also usually sleeps in her undies, and seldom gets properly dressed until she has to go out. This means that she's going around the house, and indeed into the garden and front street, topless. So I have to be careful that you don't see anything that you shouldn't see, when I take her picture.

I mean, at least she didn't kill both her children. Brigid was in the bathtub while poor Dermot blazed. He's got a lovely residential street named after him now that his father lives on.


It was a child. I never had a child die before from anything so I thought they were indestructible.

My carpools are always getting blocked by pillow fights, cops and robbers, and sims deciding to dance kiss, back rub or hang out in the street! If several vehicles arrive at once and the first one can't pull up to the mailbox, the next one might not be able to arrive properly until the misbehaving sims have been shooed away. Luckily Sim bosses are very understanding about workers being late for their shifts due to traffic problems: if you get in your car at the right time and end up stuck there waiting for another hour or two before the car can begin its journey, you still get paid for the full shift and don't lose any performance.

A standing sim can chat to a seated sim, but - "I've got a great joke for you, you won't be able to double over in laughter properly if you're in that chair! Stand up and I'll tell it to you."
