Default Driveway snapping incorrectly
Corruption strikes. I am decorating two opulent palaces for Pleasantview. Why does my driveway snap like this now and can't be placed? I already placed an invisible driveway placed on the first lot. But I can't place it again. Restarting doesn't fix the problem. I have not done hacking with Lot Adjuster or similar. Could it have to do with streetlamps on the other side of the road? I always place them there. A few other nearby lots seem fine.

Pic 1- do you have moveobjects on? Pic 2- if you have fences, you can't place a driveway. Or am I missing what you are showing me?

I will choose a path that's clear- I will choose free will

See where the driveway I am holding is on the lot. It should slide along the road and show red squares if the space is occupied. But for me it moves along another guide line that is not the road.

I found that this problem occurs because I placed a sidewalk tile on the outside corner of the lot with moveobjects. It looks better than the industrial white cement tile, which gets over-exposed by the preventek park lamps.

If I have a sim and a temporary spot for the driveway, I can uncheck Perpendicular to the street from all tiles, and place it.

Can the corner be restored to the original state with cement and its special marking?

Yes, it snaps to the sidewalk, so if you put sidewalk in unexpected places the driveway will behave in unexpected ways. If you want to do things like that, just install the hack that allows you to rotate driveways however you want and then use move objects to place them where you want them.

I'm sure I can place the driveway once I decide where it will go. It is very permissive in how the car works. It just teleports away if blocked.

Would be good to know how the "sidewalk" is marked on the corner tile to manipulate it. It comes pre-placed on the lot. Once I paint it over with anything, it is erased. I can't actually place it anywhere.

If you have deleted the road tiles before, it might mess up the parking spot snapping. After a neighborhood backup, try to use Lot Adjuster, in it Pleasantview > (Name of the lot) > Advanced, then it is called something like Create Roads or Restore Roads. Leave the tick at the "front" (it's usualy already there). Save and boot up the game. Did it help?

The restoration with Lot Adjuster is iffy. If I pick up a floor tile with moveobjects and swipe over the sidewalk tiles, they get "swept up" without placing anything, and the problem reappears. To fixate the sidewalks, I would need to place them and return to square one. I was thinking of extending the lot to make a parking space, but I won't do it now because of the ethereal sidewalks.

But duh, to revert the sidewalks I "just" needed to pick up the lot, place it somewhere else, and the return it to where it needs to be. I looked at the zebra crossings, and figured that it had to happen if the tiles were to align to the intersection. This did not fix the iffiness of them after Lot Adjuster however. It is possible to paint the opposite side while leaving the key corners shining like beacons.

The only thing I have found Lot Adjuster useful is to flatten the edge, like on Ramirez Fine Furniture, which can't be done any other way as far as I know.

What was the secret tooltip in build mode which showed various details about the ground? Like route penalty and absolute height.
