Default Do you recognize this pool of townies? (Need help with stopping them from spawning)
I deleted my Pleasant View neighborhood to let the game generate new townies using updated face templates.
In a test neighborhood, the game successfully creates new paper girls and boys, but I'm still seeing a pool of townies spawning with Maxis face templates. They are adults and elders, some with makeup, beards, or glasses.
I don't know which templates these townies are coming from. If you recognize them and know how to disable them from spawning, your help would be so appreciated!
I’m using no notownieregen and other mods, except for the clean templates.

They are the apartment social class townies.

I installed clean templates, and they still spawn in a new hood. Is there a way to disable them?

An update for future me, and anyone else struggling with the same issue. (It actually took me a long time to figure this out.)

Maybe I missed it in the thread, but I think it's worth pointing out: the empty neighborhood templates don't mention that we need to use it together with the empty stealth hood templates if you want to completely prevent Maxis townies from spawning.

In my case, I needed to install the empty stealth hood templates.
As mentioned in the mods, double-check the EA Games folder under VirtualStore. I'm not sure if this applies to the legacy version, but it's worth checking just in case.

It was a long hassle, but empty stealth hood templates were the missing part of the puzzle...

At least one of those guys is from the Garden Club. They are not new townies, they come with the default template. You need to install an empty template to get completely new townies. Installing the no regen hacks will prevent new townies from spawning, so you will also want to remove those.

Even with empty templates and no regen I still got the garden club spawning. They seem to be considered essential NPCs.

I think all 5 anti-regen mods are necessary for this to work.
Also, I remember someone suggested renaming the Pleasant view folder located under TSData, as well as the one in the EA Games directory to prevent townies from spawning.

You might of missed blockin one. I know I've done that in the past, but now I have them all blocked. Not a single social gets spawned now

They always get spawned if you go into play mode on a lot for a while, as in the unmodded game the garden club pop over to greet you on the first morning.

If you install the no regen mods you will not have any townies generate. That is what the no regen mods do, they prevent townies from generating. If you want to generate townies, you have to remove the no regen mods.

I think if you have the empty Seasons template the information for those sims won't be present and the garden club townies that are generated should have a random appearance, though, right?

The socials and townies that are in the premade hoods will still show up with the no regen mod, however no new ones will spawn (or they're not supposed to ).

To have the socials blocked from appearing at all you need to block them in the Program Files of the game. It's more or less the same steps you'd use for subhood creation. Mootilda tells you how to block them in this post https://modthesims.info/showthread....897#post3322897 .

With the socials blocked and Pes' No Regen mod I don't have the socials show up ... EVER :D

Yes, that's what I have.

I dunno, I have all the regen mods and the garden club still sometimes spawns in a new hood unless you have a specific mod that stops the garden club welcome.

Garden club are technically like a kind of NPC and are required if you ever want to try to get the wishing well, so the no-regen mods probably don't prevent them from spawning. They will prevent all townies who aren't required for any particular purpose from spawning, though, and if you want any of those to spawn you would need to take them out.

That's what I said. I don't know why someone disagreed with me.

When I move my first family into a clean neighbourhood they're usually my Welcome Wagon, as there are no other sims.

I seem to remember Pescado saying his mods didn't prevent the Garden Club person. You're right, you do get a random one with empty templates, but it's still annoying when hood building. If you need to go into play mode for any reason, sometimes they spawn, and also you sometimes get a bartender when adding bars to comm lots.

Is this a hood where you only want owned businesses and no NPC bartenders?

A neighborhood where I wanted no premade townies.

This mod stops garden club members: https://modthesims.info/d/606942/no-greeting-npcs.html

If you use Visitor Controller, this mod must load after it for it to work. I use it and I never get garden club members!

Also, might be worth mentioning, even with the no-townie-regen, if you create apartments in your neighborhood and play them, the game will generate apartment residents, depending on the number of available units you have left, and they will walk around town like normal townies. Even entering an apartment lot with available units for a couple seconds will generate them. You need this mod to keep them from spawning at all:
