I'm playing a historical game with Almighty Hat's aging mod (so, 1 year = 4 days), starting in 1901, with appropriate rules that change over time. One of these rules is that only certain people have access to birth control until the 60s (with gradual expansion of accessibility and effectiveness over time), so most of the time, if Try for Baby is an option, I should hit it. I have already been tempted not to do this a few times and -- as in real life -- there are sims for whom having a baby could be disastrous and abortion would be a better option. Normally I don't need anything like this in my game because I only try for baby when having a baby is desirable. But the population is going to grow faster than the wars and epidemics available to me will correct, with these longer lifetimes. So I'm considering it, though I will want to study such a thing quite awhile before I make up my mind.

I can't find an abortion/miscarriage mod here or on Plumbob Keep, and I don't want to wade through all the false hits the current state of search engines will give me. But I know I've seen references to them. I am Not, repeat NOT, going to install ACR or a trait mod. I am willing to consider something that makes pregnancy more dangerous (she says remembering the pregnant lady I just moved heaven and earth, not to mention objects, to keep her from starving just yesterday, and feeling queasy; I am such a wimp and may well stall out on this hood once I hit WWI and the flu epidemic.) So what are my options? Are there any, or are they all dependent on ACR?

(Personally, I stick to the Insimenator mod or SimBlender, although those are based on player choices rather than the game choosing. You can go for both options - one for random choice and one for when you want to decide).

I use both the mods suggested above, as well as this mod for abortions. It's probably not period-accurate, but Sims is all about using your imagination, right?

Ooh, thank you, yes, that second one is exactly what I was wanting (Hurray for Planned Parenthood!) and I will consider the death by childbirth mod also. If I decide I need the unsafety of illegal abortions to feature I can use dice and Rodney's Death Creator, which is how I intend to kill soldiers and victims of epidemics.
