Thank you for entering, @Phantomknight! Welcome to the contest with a pretty lot! First flowershop too

Not sure if I will get finished in time. But - where are the buyable OFB toys in the catalog?? I have looked in Kids, Hobbies, and Deco but I can't find them anywhere.

And/or - does anyone know a buyable robots link?

My fault - I completely forgot about the flowers and toys not showing up, having had the other version in my game for so long. See here:
https://simfileshare.net/folder/1236/
(Shasta changed them to show up at community lots).

You can also change the lot zoning to residential, add the objects, and change back to community lot.

As for robots - I also forgot that HL did not do those. What I could find: https://modthesims.info/download.php?t=149627 and https://modthesims.info/d/137067/bu...-0-updated.html

And Ponderosa : https://modthesims.info/d/507924/of...n-buy-mode.html

I hope this helps

Aha, thank you!! I had not even thought that they might not be buyable in community lot mode. That actually explains why some of my other CC seems to be missing as well.

(I have definitely settled on toys now. After first worrying my idea was too similar to another already posted, I have a new backstory in mind.)

I am having trouble with some items turning invisible, so let's see if I manage screenshots. New graphics card so I probably need to tweak some settings.

Default Round 1 - Josh's Sunflower Pot
One word can describe Josh: boldness. So, naturally, he marched up to Pleasantview’s real estate moguls and architects, demanding the right to build the tallest structure in town. But not just any skyscraper — one that would draw in customers like bees to a flower. And so, Josh’s Sunflower Pot took root, standing tall as the most eye-catching shop in town.

Used CC: HugeLunatic's Buyable OFB Plants
Credits: Mootilda (RIP) for her GridAdjuster tool, without which this build would have quite literally been impossible.

A giant flower pot? That's really creative.

Anywho, we now have our ten entries. So, I'd like to thank to everyone for your entries

By the way, those still building or those still thinking about joining, you've got two days until the deadline (Feb 17th) to submit your entry.

Hi, all, I have an IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT to make:

In post 27, I said time until the 17th, and in post 107 HarVee also said (what I said).

I did not realise the clock was going to stop at midnight! Should probably have noticed it earlier, but better late than never.

Since I believe @Klaarje and @simsfreq are still building, perhaps others too, I think it will be fair to extend the deadline with 24 hours.

You will have 10 hours until the clock stops plus another 24. I will then close this round.

Just tagging the judges for their information: @joandsarah77 @CatherineTCJD @HarVee

I hope this is fine with everyone - I won't make the same mistake next time I set the clock!
Try to enjoy each fact equally

Default Entry/Application, Round 1
Holtwood Florist

Holtwood has grown a great deal since its early days and in recent times the town's growth has been accelerating! The peasant farmers are cultivating more land, the noble families are finding marriage alliances, and the artisans and merchants are expanding their skills and their range of goods. Young people from merchant families are full of ideas and won't be content to work at the same jobs their parents did. Now is the perfect time to open new businesses, and the first new shop of this season is a florist's.

Note: Holtwood is a low-tech neighbourhood but isn't based on a particular historical period. They don't have modern plumbing or electronics; I've put a functional smoke alarm over the stove (the skillets) but I may lose points for not including a burglar alarm. The toilet is in the outhouse and that barrel of water on the stand by the back door is for washing hands. The scroll-in-a-box is a working telephone.

Thank you! With the extra 24 hours I can certainly get it finished; I may even reach the original deadline of midnight tonight! With my time zone, it works out at 11pm for me, so perhaps I will even get to bed at a reasonable hour :D

Default Entry - Round 1: The Wooden Bear

After years of training to master his craft, Josh finally opened his own business. He bought an abandoned cabin in a mountainous area formerly known for its lumbering and woodworking industry, and renovated it into a new workshop and toy shop, The Wooden Bear

The shopping area is quite spacious, flanked by shelves full of colorful toys on both sides. The large front window showcases some of Josh's cute and whimsy creations.
There is a small bathroom for clients on the left, a door leading to the workshop on the right, and a checkout counter. The stairs in the back lead to a small break room complete with a fridge for snacks, an espresso machine and a private bathroom.

(I've been working on this lot for days and almost forgot today was the deadline to post oops)
Now I can have a look at all the other entries :D

It is called the Easy Swing Door, it came with Nightlife! Michelle has some recolors here, it should show you what it looks like:

These entries are all lovely, so yes.. But I'm happy to do it.

Starting my day off with two more great entries is really nice to see, and today is the day that I'll be spending some time reviewing and making notes for the entries thus far. I wanted to wait to make sure we got the required ten entries before I began the review process...

Oh those! Thanks for letting me know, as I've said before, I prefer to play in Swedish. Which means things are called other things. I always use the double swing doors for restaurants.

Now I've had time to look at all your entries, very nice and unique builds!
I wanted to avoid being influenced before I actually post my entry, and now I realize @shastakiss and I had similar ideas haha, but yours with a more modern take

Application/Entry - Round 1

Exactly on the dot of 23:00 I finished the screenshots! So I will be technically late, if it weren't for the extra 24 hours

Here's my entry.

Welcome to Anderson's Toy Barn.

My version of Josh comes from a family of carpenters. His father makes wooden signage. His sister makes exquisite tables, chairs and other large furniture. His uncle specialises in shelving and fixtures. His great-grandfather and grandfather (Anderson & Son) built most of the barns in this town, back when farming was bigger. His cousins helped convert this one into a shop. Josh inherited the family flair for woodworking, but his passion is not tables, kitchen utensils, or staircases. It's toys. He loves the variety of colours, materials and themes he can work with and he loves to create a friendly little face, and he loves it best of all when children visit his store and he can see their faces light up.
