That is a form of acknowledgement, I would think.

That's true, but they don't get a memory and they don't mourn like other family members. It's more of an "oops, they're dead, let's cry while the Reaper is here and then carry on like they never existed." They'll mourn if you select the option on the urn, but I like how the children autonomously think of them and start crying throughout the day.

Call someone one the phone. Oops they are at work and not able to answer the phone.
Call someone else and as soon as you put the phone down it rings and its the person you called that wasn't available. GGrrrr

Call someone at the hour they're asleep. -50 STR from that person... Not even using the fury mechanism, just raw basegame, spaghetti-coded jank...
Kids are asleep and get perturbed by other's phone ringing at 22 or beyond. Where's the penalty on the caller?

Feel a good deal better having removed that penalty, but should have just use a call anyone, any time mod instead.

I'm afraid it happens all the time -- even in my Happy Hood. (Actually it's Veronaville, but Pinkdyamite recently remarked that all my Sims look happy; I like to think it's because I look after them so well!! )

But, back on topic, it seems to me it's the nicest Sims who get their drinks stolen the most. A few years Ralph Enriquez, one of the Veronaville teen townies, kept turning up at the PaintBoyz gay nightclub, and was upsetting all the nice gay boys who go there, by insulting them, poking them and such like. He was making them cry! So I said, "I'm not standing for that!" So when the game was closed, I edited him in SimPE, and gave him ten Nice points! I also took away his baggy jeans, and gave him a nice pair of shiny pink shorts instead. Well it worked! He ontinued to come to PaintBoyz, but his behaviour was completely transformed. Now he would go to the bar and order himself a drink. But as soon as the bartender put his drink on the bar, one of the gay boys, the ones he used to torment, would come and steal his drink. I didn't even try to stop them; I just said to him, "You see Ralph, what goes around, eventually comes around!"

It seems Ralph had been in denial about his sexual identity, because soon after that, he autonomously came out as gay. How? I was messing about in SimPE one day, just reading the gossip, to see what my Sims were talking about. Most Sims gossip is actually quite boring, so I was surprised to read, "Ralph Enriquez had his very first kiss with Jihoon LeTourneau." I never saw it happen. I guess they probably did it at PaintBoyz when I was concentrating on other Sims there. Anyway I took it from there, but I encouraged Jihoon (originally a Veronaville townie too, but long since playable) to pursue the relationship, and quite soon they were going steady.. Today Ralph is the the only one of the original Maxis Veronaville teenage townie boys to still be a townie. (All the rest have become playable!) But as Jihoon's steady boyfriend, Ralph is still an important character in our Veronaville, especially in the downtown gay community. I reckon he's really earned his place in the life of the town.

@kiririn I've just realised that you only joined Mod The Sims four days ago, and that was your very first post that I replied to. Welcome to Mod the Sims, and to the Sims 2 forum here. In contrast it's now over twelve and a half years since I joined, and this is my 6,735th post, but I still sometimes feel a bit of a newbie. I joined here within a few days of starting to play The Sims 2, and I think joining Mod The Sims was the best Simming decision I ever made. I've made some very good friends here, who actually live all over the world. I suppose the members here have collectively amassed a lot of knowledge about this game, so don't be afraid to ask questions here. In my opinion this Sims 2 forum on Mod The Sims is one of the friendliest places on the Internet. I think we tend to stay friendly here, even when we disagree.

I also count a lot of my Sims amongst my friends, especially my two original Sims Andrew and Gloria, who are featured both in my user name and my avatar picture.

I apologise to the mods for the double post, but I think the @ tag doesn't work if you add it in an edit.

Yes but we won't talk about that, what goes on at the staff parties should remain confidential.

In my recent neighbourhood, sims don't just steal eachother's drinks. Some sims, most notably a townie called Svante Ciderhouse, love hanging out at the Cooking Like Crazy club and stealing other people's turkey and lobster from the ovens. It happened twice to julien Cooke yesterday, when I was trying to fulfill his wants to win a cooking contest, and it drove me nuts when I could see what was going to happen, but not do anything about it. And yes - it was Svente Ciderhouse who was the culprit both times. He's in a silly outfit now, if he reoffends it will be plastic surgery.
