Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage
Default How to install subhoods on super collection?
How do I to install custom subhoods on the sims 2 super collection on my mac? I already have moo's subhead selection mod.

This method should work just fine: http://modthesims.info/t/showpost.p...408&postcount=8

The rest of the thread is about how to create custom subhoods, but that requires SimPE, which you can't use, so you can probably ignore that bit. The installation should be the same, though.

The problem is that, since super collection comes as an app, it doesn't have all the folders required for installing them. There's no TSData folder, for example.

Does following the path for installing cc yield any useful folders?

Not sure. To install cc it's Mac HD > Users > (my name) > Library > Containers > com.aspyr.sims2.appstore > Data (this is just all the data from my computer) > Application Support > Aspyr > The Sims 2 > Download (No, I did not figure that out myself.)
Other folders in The Sims 2 include Cameras, Collections, Config, LockedBins, Logs, LotCatalog, Movies, Music, Neighborhoods, Paintings, PetBreeds, PetCoats, SC4Terrains, Storytelling, Teleport, and Thumbnails.

I don't know if any of those would be considered useful folders, but maybe I'm missing something.

To me that looks like the Windows My Doc folder where we would put downloads and CC.

We need a Mac user that know how to install them to come around.

ADD: Looks like this thread has part of the path to the install location and maybe it will help you http://modthesims.info/t/530610

@Cheeznerd No, I don't think any of those are helpful links. As @marka93 says, those are the playing files, not the installation files. However, this post in the thread that he linked you to might help you find the correct files, since it looks like someone found the correct folders: http://modthesims.info/showthread.p...894#post4478894 The last two (brief) paragraphs are the important ones.

I went to the Dark Side only three months before the SC came out, so I can't test myself, but try out the path in the post linked above and let us know if it works!

So I finally figured it out. In case anyone wants to know, you just have to right click on the game in the applications section and select "show package contents." All the folders that your used to will be there in Contents > Home.

Hello cheeznerd,
can you maybe tell me where exactly you saved the subhood-files? With the help of your comment I found the "The Sims 2 Super Collection/Contents/Assets/TSData/Res/NeighborhoodTemplate"-folder but as the windows-guides always say to put the subhoods in the "The Sims Ultimate Collection/Best of Business/EP3/ TSData/ Res/NeighborhoodTemplate" and there is now differentiation between the packs on Macs Super Collection I'm a little scared to break my game if I just drop the subhood-files in the folder mentioned first.
I'm probably overthinking it, but I'd like to be sure :D

Hi @mangfilu The person you are replying to has not been active on this site since 2022. This thread is ten years old! You would be better to start your own thread, explaining what the issue is and which operating system you are using, and then active members may be able to assist you.
