Hi, I hope someone can help with this

So I just did fresh install of Sims 2 + All EPs+SPs (CD versions).
I have patched all expansions except for nightlife. When I try to patch nightlife, the patching application works normally, as in it opens and the progress bar gets to 100%, but then the patcher just closes down/crashes. No error message pop up either.
If I try to run the patcher again it just keeps doing the same: gets to 100% and then just crashes.
I do see that after the patcher crashes it creates a sims2update.tmp file in the /TSData/Res/Objects folder.

I've tried different NL patches hosted on different site, but they all crash (unsurprisingly).
I have tried to search for this problem, but I couldn't find anything because all results were about the game crashing, not the patcher crashing.

I do remember that last time I installed sims 2 (last year), I couldn't get the Nightlife patcher to work then either. Back then I just sorta gave up, but now i really wanna try to fix it.

If you run a later expansion pack, then changes to NightLife objects will have no effect anyway because that pack comes with objects that include everything. It's likely that nothing in that patch matters.

That was definitely not the case back when we were using the disk versions.

There are a lot of issues with the disk versions including patching issues, so you should really be using a prepatched version at this point. There are detailed instructions on how to install the game and get it working on the /r/sims2help wiki on reddit.

Make sure that your basegame patch is correctly installed too.

I used Grumpy Loader, and it worked! it now says my nightlife is patched. Thank you all for responding
