Default Imaginary Friends for Sims 2
Until someone makes an Imaginary Friend mod for Sims 2, this is a rule set to mimic the Imaginary Friends in Sims 3.

Begin with Getting an Imaginary Friend. Spoilers, not all kids get one, and most don't.

Imaginary Friend has 3 Phases:
1. Imaginary Friend Doll - A toy your kid plays with - and no one else gets to. If your sim plays with it enough, it can come to life.
2. Imaginary Friend Come to Life - Your sim knows their friend is real, but to everyone else, there is no one there.
3. Become Real - If your sim forms a close enough bond, their Imaginary Friend can become a real sim - that everyone can interact with. This is easier if they form the bond young, and more challenging if they're older.

I wrote this to be a part of my Test of Time Challenge, but you can easily ignore that part and play this in your game whether you are currently doing a challenge or not.

I have included links to custom content. If someone finds or creates more content for this, please reply here and tell everyone where it is.

Andrew Jones-Moltke (nee Jones), as well as being the very first Sim in my game, is also my imaginary friend. I talk everything over with him, and wouldn't make any important decision without consulting him. I never had an imaginary friend when I was a child, but I've had one for the last twelve years. People sometimes wonder who I'm talking to. (That should really be "whom", as Andrew is reminding me!) Don't anybody tell me that, just because I'm in my seventies, I can't have an imaginary friend! I've got one! And a very good one he is too!

I wish he would become Real (Phase 3). Then I'd give him the huge hug he so richly deserves. And all my Real Life friends could meet him too!

I'll console myself (and him) by giving him an imaginary hug!

All Sims are beautiful -- even the ugly ones.

I love that this is a sim in your game. I think it's very sweet. I hope you get to see him in game during the day, and visit him in dreams at night. Then you get to give him a hug.
Hint: If you daydream while you fall asleep, sometimes it continues as a dream after you fall asleep. I found this out accidentally as a teen. It's glorious. It doesn't always happen, but it's a nice way to go to sleep anyway.
