Default Strange lag on community lot in main neighborhood
Hey fellow Simmers,

I’m facing a strange issue with community lots in the main neighborhood. I get a lag that lasts for about 6 seconds, then disappears for 22 seconds, and repeats. There’s no error popup, but it’s incredibly frustrating. I’ve already tried many potential fixes, but nothing seems to work.

Here’s a detailed list of what I’ve tried so far:

1. Removed all CC & mods – lag persists.
2. Tried moving the community lot to different subhoods – No lag, only in the main neighborhood.
3. Tested on an empty community lot in the main neighborhood – lag persists.
4. Used Lot Cleaner – It temporarily fixed the issue, but the lag returned when I revisited the community lot.
5. Banned all sims, townies, NPCs, strays, etc. from entering the community lot – lag persists.
6. Checked for corrupted sims or NPCs using SimPE – No issues found.
7. Tested business lots in main neighborhood – No lag at all.
8. Ran HoodChecker – No corruption detected.
9. Removed all decorations and empty lots from the main hood, then added an empty community lot – Lag persists.
10. Removed CLP (Community Lot Populator) using FFS Lot Debugger – Lag was temporarily fixed, but it returned when I revisited the community lot

The weird part is that subhoods don’t experience the lag, but only the main neighborhood does. I’m using essential mods but don’t have the Legacy Collection.

Has anyone encountered something similar before? Is there any way to fix this, or could it be a deeper issue with the main neighborhood? I’ve tried almost everything, and I’m stuck at this point.

I’d really appreciate any advice or suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

Do you have witches? People often complain of lag when one of the high witches shows up.

I do have witches, but I used Visitor Controller to ban them from visiting community lots, and the lag still persists.

Hey again, I tested another neighborhood, Belladonna Cove, and created new witches. When I went to a community lot, there was no lag at all. This seems to confirm that the lag is specific to my main neighborhood.

Could this mean something in my main hood is stuck or misbehaving in a way that doesn’t happen in other neighborhoods? Is there a way to reset or clear whatever might be causing this issue?

It does sound as if something is glitching. Are you using a Maxis hood or a custom one?

Did you use Lot Cleaner when the lot was live? It might not save fixes for a community lot if so. Although, if you can move the lot to a subhood and it's fine then it sounds like it's a problem with the hood itself.

I’m using a custom hood, which I created back in 2017. I did use Lot Cleaner while the lot was live, but it only fixed the lag temporarily. When I moved the lot to a subhood, the lag was completely gone, which made me think it’s an issue with the main hood itself. Any idea what could cause a hood-specific problem like this?
