This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Seasons
Default Does only one tv at a time play on community lots?
I built this lot to be a sort of faux off-track betting facility/sports bar. When my sims first arrive, the TVs are (of course) turned off. When I attempt to get all the TVs to play at once (probably not a great idea given my antiquated laptop's tendency to heat up like a frying pan), my Sim will turn the current TV off before turning on a new one. Is this because he's sitting in the same seat, and a sim in any given spot will only watch one TV at a time? If I make him switch seats, will he first switch off the set before moving? Would the trick only work if I had multiple playable Sims visit at once?
If this is the case, I suppose I could also put a Blender on the lot, and temporarily hijack townies with the teleport function, to make them turn on multiple sets. But I have a sneaking suspicion that they might also turn off the TV before standing up.
Forgive my ignorance on the subject; I suppose I could have experimented a bunch before wasting forum space with a help post. I'm really just curious about how multiple TV sets would function on a community lot.

I think it depends on the personality if the person will turn off a TV after done watching with it. Try very low Neat personality and overall mood below zero.

The sim in question is the opposite of neat, but I didn't notice what his mood was. What you say makes sense, though - thanks for the input.

For a sports bar, it might make sense to make a clone of the TV that is always on and can't be turned off, similar to the community lot stereos that are always on and always playing the same radio station. I think "always on" can probably be achieved with one line in the Init function, and "can't be turned off" by editing one of the pie menu functions, either, the guardian or the action function, to just always return false immediately. But I don't know how much of the TV pie menu functionality is squirreled away in the semiglobal.

Interesting. I have a vague memory of seeing a TV somewhere that was designed to always be on. But then again, I might just be thinking of the stereos. Guess I'll do a little more research. Thanks!

Squinge has this one, I used to use it to make pubs show sport or music videos on the TVs.
