Default If there were a film with characters inspired by TS2 premades...
Like if it were known that the main characters of the movie were inspired by the Pleasant twins, the Goth family, or the Brokes, even if not a direct copy of them, what would you think of that?

I think Willie Shakespeare wrote a few plays inspired by the Veronaville characters. Some of those plays have been made into films.

Pleasantview is basically Desperate Housewives with a splash of soap opera imo.

I might one day finish my Zanes Hollow project, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Until then, you can see what I'm up to on my Simblr!

Okay, the OP reminded me of an idea I've had kicking around in my head on-and-off for a while:

Your favorite neighborhood in The Sims (any game, any expansion) is getting adapted into a TV series a la The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!: Each episode consists of a number of animated segments, each of which is bookended by live-action skits of the main characters as portrayed by C-list celebrities, career guest stars, and the occasional aging/retired pro wrestler. Which neighborhood would you pick for the show, and who's playing who? (Part of the conceit of Super Show! is that the live-action skits take place some years after the animated segments, so it's fine if the live actors are significantly older than the characters they'll portray.)

As for my pick? Given how risk-averse so many entertainment industry executives are, I doubt many will go for it (in a way that'll do it justice), but I'd really like to see someone depict Strangetown on a TV show budget, with its strangeness intact. Mad scientists, alien pregnancies, and all. No ideas about who's playing who, though.

That would be interesting for sure. I highly doubt they would pick Strangetown though, they'd almost certainly pick something with the Goths in it for an official Sims movie, be it Neighborhood 1, Pleasantview, or whatever they call the flagship neighborhood in Sims 3 and 4 with the Goths.

An official film based on Sims 2 Pleasantview would be bittersweet. On one hand, it would be neat to see it highlighted in such a way, on the other hand they would almost certainly contradict my story (and probably a lot of other people's stories) for the characters in major ways, basically butchering how we see them. Besides, part of the reason I asked this is because I'm seriously thinking of divorcing part of my in-game story from the game (like changing the names of the Pleasant twins, and changing the name of Nookington's/Tom Nook which is from Animal Crossing) and putting it together to submit to film producers, and I was curious what the reaction would be in the Sims community. Like imagine two redheaded twins being major characters, one of whose name was Lily, and somehow it was known that while not exactly the same characters they were inspired by Angela and Lilith Pleasant?
