Turning quickly Alessia let out a cry of dismay and fear as she saw her husband standing in the open door framed by the gas light, dressed correctly as always as if awaiting dinner guests for the evening. In that moment she detested him, and she knew she had always disliked him her dislike growing to fear and detest as time went on.

The scalpel felt almost familiar in her hand, as Sir Michel stepped into the room she realised she was alone. Whatever happened here would never be discovered...
