JJ McTrick’s Mansion

Here is a spooky mansion -ala’ The Addams Family http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Addams_Family -- a childhood favorite. I loved how everything just seemed richly eccentric at first glance, but got really strange on closer inspection. Simming-wise, JJ, aka The Sorceress http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group...yguid=149797690 and McTrick http://www.mctricksplace.com/ were the artists whose creations most influenced the design and décor of the mansion.

The house sits on a 3x3 lot, is fully furnished and costs a mere $259,371. The house has many designer features. An archway shelters the garage, which opens to the basement. There are two small servant’s rooms in the basement. I suggest that you visit DMA, http://valdea.com/ and get some real live in help. Replace the existing beds with the required custom NPC beds. A There is lots of room in the basement for ‘stuff’ (like all your cool career awards) or more skeletons, or partition it off into more small cell-like bedrooms for all of those street orphans you take in. The basement includes easy access to the backyard and family cemetery -- but watch your step! There are pits and mounds out there. Not certain whether it was something digging down for bones, or bones, digging up for something.

A large arched porch shelters guests from the elements. The formal entry includes a water lily pond tucked under the stairs and display shelves full of collectables and treasure. The kitchen has open shelf storage with a variety of foods and other stuff. A formal dining room opens between the kitchen and living area. Enjoy the fire from your window seat in the living room. Built in knooks house head shaped planters. The 1st floor level of the tower has a treadmill and a shower.

The second floor has the master bedroom, boys room and girl’s room. The master bedroom includes a luxurious sitting area and the wonderfully Victorian Sherlock Holmes wall papers by The Sorceress. There is also a nice friendly skeleton to keep you company while you work at the desk. The shelves feature some of your personal treasures and collections. The boys room is set up for two occupants -- but they don’t have to be boys. The orange décor is suitable for either sex. The girl’s room, with the black and pink wall paper features an indoor garden of dead and dying plants. The elegant Vampire room is windowless, but still has a light, ethereal plane feel to it. A study area with computer is just across the hall from the children’s rooms. When they are finished studying, They can watch TV in the tower.

The attic is mostly unfurnished. There is a large room which could be turned into a suite for Grandma and Grandpa. In the meantime, enjoy a game of pool or head into the tower for a little poker. For more pics see: http://s40.photobucket.com/albums/e...0House/?start=0

This lot is just loaded with magnificent custom content from some of the finest sim artists in the world. They have graciously allowed me to include them in this lot for your playing pleasure. Please respect their creations and do NOT upload this lot anywhere.

You will need to download both files in order for this lot to work.

Credits:
McTrick’s Place, http://www.mctricksplace.com/ features beautiful matched set recolor -- many are dark & eerie -- just perfect for Halloween.
MacaRossi, http://www.modthesims2.com/member.php?u=44745. I can’t imagine building a Victorian building without her ornamental roof pediments, and of course we all know she is the queen of windows and doors. But did you know that she is also a floral designer of note -- here recent a potted plants are just wonderful -- elegant, colorful and richly detailed.
Sunni Sims http://kimberspace.mattwork.potsdam...isims/index.php. Sunni has one of the finest collections of stairs available anywhere -- and that is just a small bit of the marvelous things she shares. The railings and windows are just perfect for many buildings.
The Sorceress, aka JJ, http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group...yguid=149797690 has some of the most Victorian walls, floors and recolor. Personally, I like the Sherlock Holmes set the very best , but the charming Charmed series isn’t far behind.
KomoSims, http://www.komosims.net/. Of course once you start talking about fine floors, walls, and terrains, you have to think of KomoSims. Komosims, herself, along with the other featured artists VonNdaSun and SimLin55 are legendary.
Mia86 http://www.modthesims2.com/member.p...06&sort=&page=1 has made some great things for castles. Her walls and floors helped set a slightly gothic air.
Sim Design Sisters, http://www.simdesignsisters.com have many fine creations. You can see a small sampling in the entry floor.
Tarox, http://www.tarox4sims2.de/. The furniture and object designs are creative, unique and earthy. You will see just a few of her pieces in this lot . All are parts of beautiful sets. Go visit her and get the complete sets.
Parsimonious www.parsimonious.org. The site isn’t as large, but it is just as diverse as MTS. There is a small sampling of the walls, floors, objects and recolor in this lot.
RoddyAleixo, http://www.modthesims2.com/member.php?u=22075 has made the ultimate driveway recolor -- invisible.
Jonesi, http://www.modthesims2.com/member.php?u=95035 is a fantastic builder and designer. She makes many of her own walls and floors. She has graciously allowed me to use her creations in my own buildings.
Sim Estates 2, http://simestates2.planetthesims.gamespy.com/index.htm is a diverse site of many wonderful sim creations. I think there is some of everything there. The exterior walls in this lot are the least of their wonderful creations. Be sure you check out the fireplaces!
Mdhttr323, http://www.modthesims2.com/member.php?u=252682. Anyone who has ever seen her antique bakery set or old world shelves knows immediately why I was so pleased she said yes to my upload request. Both sets are so beautifully detailed and versatile.
Crocobaura, http://www.modthesims2.com/member.php?u=65423 has brought us so many wonderful things -- lots, fooz-ball, syringes, and foods. The ‘fruits’ of her labor look great on a kitchen shelf, as do her cakes, packaged foods and bottles.
Gromit, http://www.modthesims2.com/member.php?u=45505. When I think of Gromit, I think of his cute stuffed toys -- but look a little deeper and you will find all sorts of skeletons just sitting and waiting, hanging around looking for a closet and resting in peace… and don’t’ forget the grave covers. His gargoyles and lions were so perfect for the roofline. His creations are really what added the spook to this house.
Echo, http://sims.eternal-echo.net/. If you have custom rugs, it is probably because of Echo’s ground breaking mesh efforts. Her rug mesh is legendary.
Fat D, http://www.modthesims2.com/member.php?u=26526 has made one of my all time favorite decorator things -- the downshift, http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=135757. This often overlooked treasure doubles the utility of all single tile objects. I LOVE it!
Hexameter, http://www.modthesims2.com/member.php?u=75890 is possibly the most creative of all vehicle makers. His hansom, http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=121761, looked so handsome in the driveway.
Holy Smoly, http://www.holysimoly.com/index.cfm?go=home.welcome has an abundance of wonderful creations. Their Glowington candlesticks are just so Victorian.
Marina Sims, http://www.marinasims.net/sims2.html has many unique and creative items -- many with a Victorian or medieval flair. In this lot, a few of her fine décor items added a nice ambiance.
Hchangeri, http://www.retailsims.com/ has some of the most amazing shop items and shop themes. I just love the quality and the variety -- several are part of the personal treasures displayed in this house.
