Long ago, I downloaded a lovely set of Rivendell-inspired wallpapers for the Sims1, from a site called Moni's Sims. I loved those papers, and used them often. I also loved the movies, directed by Peter Jackson, and the set for Rivendell that they used. I'm a fan of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, and of the books by JRR Tolkien. So, I decided to create a set of wallpapers that pay tribute to this wonderful fantasy setting.
These are NOT recreations of Moni's Sims papers. The design is loosely based on the trellis-work of the movie set, and incorporates elements of celtic knotwork. The actual designs are completely my own.
The wallpapers come in 5 sets of matching papers, 12 papers in a set. The sets are designed to work together, so that a great variety of patterns can be created with combinations of the papers. The designs will carry across the wall sections. Or, cover a whole wall with just one, if you like. The designs are the same from set to set, also. So, if you want to, you can even mix and match colors.
The twelve patterns in each set are:
1. A plain, seamless paper, in the basic color of the paper. It's got a bit of texture to it to keep it from being too plain.
2. The plain paper with a baseboard in the color of the scrollwork for that color set.
3. The main scrollwork design of the set, an all-over pattern that covers the entire panel. This panel will connect to any of the other papers in the set at various points.
4. The main panel with a baseboard.
5. Another all-over pattern that connects with the others, though not at every point this time.
6. An all-over lattice design. This isn't as elaborate as the others, but I thought a simpler piece in the set would be a good idea.
7. A "gate" design. This covers the whole panel, but looks rather like a gate, with "bars for the bottom section. The design still more or less connects with the others, but it's sectioned off by a frame around three sides.
8. An "arch" design. This one only covers the top half of the panel, though the design does connect to the main pieces at connection points.
9. A "half" wall design, like a chair rail. This one only covers the bottom half of the panel, though it too connects to the main designs.
10. The "half wall" design with a baseboard.
11. What I call a "combo" design, that consists of the arch and the halfwall on one paper.
12. The combo design with a baseboard.
I must give a great big thanks to bluetexasbonnie here. She gave me wonderful suggestions while I was designing the papers, so they are much better quality than they would have been without the Creator Feedback Forum. Also, my computer began having major problems just before I got the papers finished, so that I can't run Sims. She was kind enough to offer to take my ingame screenshots for me, so that these could be offered to everyone to enjoy. So, the lovely pictures here are all curtesy of her. Thanks so much, bluetexasbonnie, or all your help. I literally couldn't have submitted these without you.
These will work with the base game. No expansion packs are needed.
Upload policy: These are free for upload with lots to any FREE site, with credit to me, except the Exchange. Please though, give me a PM if you upload a lot using my papers so I can go enjoy what you've created. (I'm going through serious Sim-withdrawal here.)
