Snapdragon Hack - Updated 09/05/08

Hi this is my first upload to the site. The purpose of this mod is to make snapdragon bouquets less powerfull in their magical needs boosting effects.

For those who don't know, good snapdragon bouquets release a pink mist that boosts the moods of all sims around them (bad ones release a green mist which reduces needs). The only needs that aren't affected are energy and environment. The problem I found with this is that the object is far too powerful, 2 snapdragon boquets can keep the needs of a sim fully maxed out forever, all they need is a bed or expresso maker to keep energy up.

The mod replaces the default snapdragon bouquet with a less powerfull version. If you want the original items back just delete the package. The differences between the default and new version are:

• Hunger and bladder needs are no longer affected by snapdragon bouquets
• The needs that are still affected (comfort, fun, social and hygiene) can only be filled up to 2/3 full by snapdragons.
• Snapdragons cost 2x as much to make, and take 3x as long to make. They can be sold for 2x as much as the original price too

For this mod to work you will need OFB obviously. I run the game with Open for Buisness, Seasons and Nightlife and it works, I can't see there being a problem with any other installed EPs. *edit* this mod will probably conflict with other mods that change the snapdragon object in any way (ie buyable snapdragon).

Any bugs found, requests for enhancments welcome. If it breaks anything in your game I am sorry but download at your own risk! I am working or 2 more mods, one to make socialising more realistic (a bit like Alexx58's harder relationship mod but affecting different things) and one to make the cost of bills higher. I'll upload these when I think they're ready.

Update - Added new version (cd_snapdragon v2.zip) where the snapdragon Bouquet is now buyable from the flower stall. The price is $1,200, twice the wholesale price. The item bought is placed in the sim's inventory.
