My daughter eschews hotels in BV: she finds them boring. Or it could just be that she prefers to torture Sims. (You might think that but I couldn't possibly comment.) At any rate, the campground included with Three Lakes did not meet her exacting standards, so we created our own, modelled on several family camping trips to the North Shore of Lake Superior. (By the way, we would have killed for a Flapjack Shack. I'm just sayin'. The nearest grocery is usually about 2 hrs away.)
The campground includes things that will make it possible to keep your Sims alive on their vacation, provided the bears don't get them: the aforementioned flapjack stand, a large public bathroom and several smaller ones, tents, axe throwing, log rolling, and even a place to learn slap-dancing. WHY they want to learn this, we have no idea, but they seem to enjoy it. Oh, yeah, there's a spa for the moms and dads to relax in while the kids are log rolling. There might even be a dressing room tucked away here and there. And, of course, there is copious fishing.
It was fall when we visited Three Lakes for pictures, so you get bonus fall colours. My daughter is big into verisimilitude; you may want to delete some of the trees she insisted on to make it easier to see, but we managed to play several vacations on this lot as is.
Note: we have been having lots of trouble with barbecues on community lots so there are none here. The Sims wouldn't clean up or throw away the dirty dishes and then everyone got glum and then the bears came and ate them. So we went with flapjack stands.
Lot size: 5x5 or 5x6 (the same size as the original Three Lakes campground: astute observers will note we put it where the original was).

- You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.
