New Scarlett Top and Bottom Meshes - fits EA meshes
All meshes needed are included in this post. These will not replace any existing meshes.
Meshes for Female Adult/YA, textures enabled variously for Everyday, Formal, Sleepwear, Athletic and Swimwear.
Hi,
As many have pointed out, the Lara series of meshes are limited in their usefulness due to not fitting to standard EA meshes.
So here is a new series of meshes with the standard EA waistline. I have called it the Scarlett for it's initial inspiration not so much for the final result, (which in some particular parts could be called the Beyonce). I would just like to add that these shapes do not represent a personal preference on my part, but are more of a response to the lack of choice in the game. Variety is the key word.
What I present to you now is a 'Nude' top mesh generally for bra's and swimsuit tops, a fitted shirt top for fitted shirts, a jeans bottom for jeans and a 'Nude' bottom mesh for underwear and swimwear.
Here compared to the EA original meshes.
The tops have a bustier profile similar to the Lara, and the bottoms have a more rounded posterior (maybe the Megane was a better name). You can mix and match with the EA clothing meshes for a variety of shapes.
The nude tops are Sleepwear, Athletic and Swimwear. The fitted shirts are pretty much everything. The jeans are Everyday, Formal ('caus they can be textured as trousers), and Sportwear. The nude bottoms are the same as nude tops. Of course anyone who re-textures them can set any category.
The morphs seem to work sympathetically with the meshes.
I have tested these in game for a few hours and I can see no issues with them, but I play at maximum detail on all settings. I cannot say what kind of results you will get at low detail.
You will need to install both the mesh and the corresponding texture enabler for the mesh to show in game, and they will show as clothing items in CAS. Multiple designs will show on single lines, (see attached images).
Each mesh and matching enabler are zipped together for convenient download, or you can download all of the meshes and enablers as one zip.
The latest version of CTU (1.8 now), is available as a Beta, and it makes re-texturing a custom mesh a breeze. I recommend you save a copy of the Texture enablers in a projects folder, and then use CTU to open them when you want to add your own designs. If you delete all of the old designs from the enabler, replace them with your own and then 'save as' a new filename, you can easily create a texture package which works with the new meshes.
But first of all I strongly recommend that you learn how to make new designs for EA meshes with CTU. Go on. It's fun.
I will be laying off of the meshing for a while, (except for specific projects on my football kits), as I want to get back to the actual texturing. But don't worry, I have seen a few other modders 'work in progress' and more meshes should soon be available.
Suggestions and comments as usual please, requests are taken as hints and I may or may not act on them as the spirits move me.
You may use these meshes for your own creations. No uploads to paysites or the exchange please. (I'd love to see a movie with these in it).
Polygon Counts:
Polygon count unchanged from EA base Meshes.

This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below for more information.

For a detailed look at individual files, see the Information tab. |
Install Instructions
1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file. Now you will have either a .package or a .sims3pack file.
For Package files:
1. Cut and paste the file into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder. If you do not already have this folder, you should read the full guide to Package files first: Sims 3:Installing Package Fileswiki, so you can make sure your game is fully patched and you have the correct Resource.cfg file.
2. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).
For Sims3Pack files:
1. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
2. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Find the item in the list and tick the box beside it. Then press the Install button below the list.
3. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the content to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
4. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).
Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.
