One day in chat, the dear sweet Leesester showed me a beautiful retro-inspired dress (click here for a picture) she had found on the web. I really liked it a lot so I decided to use it as inspiration for my next creation.

My version of the dress is very similar, especially with the dress coloration areas. I did change up the neckline because I like to show a little more skin. (Don't judge me!

The dress has 3 recolorable channels: base skirt, skirt panels/bodice and sash.
While I was very pleased with the finished outcome, I thought that the customization options were very limited. To fix this, I added two more versions with different recolor layouts.

Version two has the same amount of channels except you can now color the bodice and skirt separately, as well as the sash. Version two is probably my favorite and the most versatile.

Lastly, version three changes it up a bit more. This time the bodice and skirt recolor together. Leaving the petticoat to be recolored separately, and the sash as well.
All three versions are found in one package. The dress is for female adults/YAs and is found in everyday and formal. Each version has it's own custom thumbnail for easy identification in CAS.
This is a custom mesh and it took me a long time and a lot of screaming "OMFG WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS THING". However, it was worth it. There is only one flaw that I'm aware of: the underside of the skirt has two slivers in it. You'll just about never see them unless you deliberately get the camera under the sim, so I didn't see it as too much of a problem.

Thank you whiterider and BloomsBase for helping me fix the seams on the mesh. And, leesester, for giving me inspiration.

If you want the meshes to use for your own creation, look here.
This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below for more information.

Install Instructions
1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file. Now you will have either a .package or a .sims3pack file.
For Package files:
1. Cut and paste the file into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder. If you do not already have this folder, you should read the full guide to Package files first: Sims 3:Installing Package Fileswiki, so you can make sure your game is fully patched and you have the correct Resource.cfg file.
2. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).
For Sims3Pack files:
1. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
2. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Find the item in the list and tick the box beside it. Then press the Install button below the list.
3. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the content to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
4. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).
Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.
