UPDATED! Big thanks to Jenflower, who made these EP Ready.
These three careers are intended to help organize households.
Wouldn't it be nice if your Romance sim's spouse was out of the house all day long?
Wouldn't it be great if your stay-at-home-mom sim could contribute financially without leaving the kids home alone?
These careers will not interfere with the original (Maxis) careers.
Careers will show up in the newspaper and on the computer.
Icons for the careers are the same as the Business (Workaholic and Telecommuter) and Slacker (Self-Employed) careers. This is not because I was lazy. It was because my creativity ran out and I couldn't think of any icon that would represent these careers any better than these. Since I'm still having a problem getting icons to be transparent, I thought it would be better for everyone if I just used these.
Please read all notes before downloading.
Workaholic Career
The purpose of this career is to get a sim out of the house for the entire day. The sim will not get filthy rich from this career. On levels 1-9 you get Sundays off, just in case you need extra time to work on skills or interract with family members.
On levels 1-5, your sim will be working 14 hours, from 9am-11pm, Mon-Sat.
On levels 6-7, your sim will be working 15 hours, from 8am-11pm, Mon-Sat.
On levels 8-9, your sim will be working 16 hours, from 7am-11pm, Mon-Sat.
On level 10, your sim will be working 18 hours, from 6am to midnight, Mon-Sun (all week).
Wages are as follows:
Levels 1-5 earn 550-750 per day, with steady increases for each level.
Levels 6-10 earn 1300-2000 per day, with steady increases for each level.
To advance to the next level, you simply need to earn one point for each skill. So, to get from level one to level two you need to earn one point in each skill. Family friends are not needed.
Chance cards are included for all levels. Chance cards are mild and you cannot get fired. Only one level has a chance card that can get you demoted.
There is only one job title. You are always called a Workaholic, and it is assumed that you continue working for the same company and are just getting raises and promotions within that company, rather than changing jobs completely.
The career uses the Town Car as the carpool and the Business Suit as the outfit.
Don't worry about your sim getting home just in time to pass out from exhaustion or get a visit from the social bunny. Needs are frozen while they are at work. This is the only way I could do it, because even a decrease of -1 per hour caused the sim to nearly die on the curb, unless they left home with all needs completely maxed.
Self-Employed Career
The purpose of this career is to keep your sim at home as much as possible, but still get paid more than once a week. The levels are as follows:
Envelope Stuffer, earns 1790 a week
Calligrapher, earns 1932 a week
Typist, earns 2210 a week
Business Card Designer, earns 2302 a week
Advice Columnist, earns 2650
Speech Writer, earns 2894 a week
Ghost Writer, earns 3196 a week
Professional Genealogist, earns 3654 a week
How-To Book Writer, earns 3800 a week
eBay Seller, earns 4986 a week
Hours vary, but you go to work twice a week at each level, and are gone for one hour, except for level 10, in which you are gone for 4 hours.
Chance cards are included for all levels. Chance cards are mild and you cannot get fired. Only one level has a chance card that can get you demoted.
The career uses the cheap hatchback as the carpool and your everyday clothing as the outfit.
Telecommuter
This career is something I saw as a request. Admittedly, it's not the best career ever, but it does what it's supposed to do.
There is only one job title. You are always called a Telecommuter. It is assumed that you are working for the same company and are just getting raises and promotions.
Your hours are always the same: 10pm to 11pm. You always go to pick up your paycheck on Friday.
You get paid 1550 a week on level one to 1640 a week on level 10, so don't expect to get filthy rich.
There are chance cards. Sort of. There is one chance card that is used on all levels. It has a low chance of occurring so hopefully you won't see it pop up all the time. The chance card itself is all positive. Even if you fail it, you still get something, although it won't be as good as if you pass it.
The career uses the cheap hatchback as the carpool and your everyday clothing as the outfit.
And that's the end of them.
Please let me know if you experience any problems, find mistakes, or have suggestions.
