ABOUT MILTON PARK
Although small in size, Milton park is one of Belleville's oldest and best kept community jewels.
Commissioned by Belleville's 14th mayor, it was originally intended as a Midsummer's Night gift for his lover. Sadly, the lover in question died a few days before the park's inauguration and was dearly missed by all, especially by the Mayor, who decided to open the park to the public as a memorial later on, changing the fountain's original fairy statue for one that better conveyed the bittersweet end of his beloved. It is said by citizens of all generations since that on midsummer's nights they can feel the air fill with the sweet songs of the old Mayor's love.
