Spa Day Holiday Tradition

Description: Spend the day as a spa day and pamper yourself. To participate, indulge in Wellness- and Spa-related activities like Yoga, Meditation, time in the Sauna, Mud Baths, and Bath Soaks.

Objectives: Have your Sim do any of the above interactions once for at least 10 Sim minutes.

Loved By: Active, Lazy

Ignored By: Toddlers, Children

Mod Design

The vanilla game lacked a dedicated holiday tradition for Spa Day interactions, so I added one. It's niche, especially since the devs avoided creating pack-specific traditions, but that's what modding is for. I designed this to be a Maxis Match mod so that a Sims player who didn't know that this was a mod could think that this came with the game. I even formatted the tradition's description to read like EAxis's.

Except for the Finished Animation interaction. Word on the street says it's glitchy and annoying. ProTip: download Bienchen83's noholidaygoalcompleteinteraction for better immersion.

What about LittleMsSam's Wellness Traditions Pack? Our mods serve two similar but different purposes. LittleMsSam's is more granular and covers only one subset of the Spa Day umbrella per tradition. My mod is an all-in-one tradition that errs on inclusion. Feel free to use both of our Spa Day tradition mods in your game based on your whims. And tell Sam I said hi!

Future Plans:
  • Rebalance to taste. For example, loved by/ignored by attributes, qualifying interactions, number and length of iterations, and so on.
  • Provide compatibility for the Well-Aligned Trait as a Loved By trait.
  • Maybe: Spruce up with additional bells-and-whistles, such as custom moodlets, interactions, autonomy, and even walk-bys.
