No Premade Holidays

Are you the kind of player that starts every new save file by deleting Love Day, Harvestfest, Winterfest, and New Year's Eve from the calendar? Then download this mod and EAxis's pre-made holidays will stop appearing on your in-game calendar. Enjoy populating the calendar with your custom holidays, or making your Sim world forever devoid of holidays. You Grinch.

Mod Design

While researching mod ideas, I stumbled upon a few threads of Simmers who were tired of the premade holidays from Seasons and wanted an option to disable them from appearing. Once I learned about the problem, I figured out the solution.

I figured out that the game automatically adds premade holidays to the calendar via the Season Tuning files, such as C98DD45E!0000001A!000000000002CDC4.Season_Spring.SeasonTuning. Within each of these files are code blocks that define what holidays are used and at what day of the season, based on season length.

I deleted these lines...and voila! Farvel, Love Day.

Options
  1. Download the All-in-One version to block out all of the seasons' holidays with one package, OR
  2. Download the Separated version that has three packages: Spring, Fall, Winter. For example, if you want to get rid of the spring and fall holidays but keep winter holidays, delete the first two and keep the third.

Warning: DON'T use the all-in-one version and the separate packages at the same time. This is unnecessary and might cause conflict weirdness.

Notes:
  • This mod only works with a new save file where you're yet to play a household. In my initial playtesting, I noticed that it doesn't delete premade holidays that are already on the calendar, but I couldn't reliably determine how the game treated this holidays once the seasons cycle. Do tell me in the comments if anything weird happens with your calendar.
  • Summer is not a provided tuning file because Summer in the vanilla game has no premade holidays. So much for Freedom Day.
  • This does not prevent Surprise Holidays from appearing on your calendar. For that, download another mod like simmytime's Suprise Holidays Be Gone!
