Welcome to Baiji (Snowy Border) - cc-free, populated hood!

The neighbourhood is plug-and-play, and it includes 11 playable families, 41 NPC-s, 2 townies (so you can adopt babies), 2 stray cats and 2 stray dogs (so you can adopt kittens and puppies).
Warning! I have NOT created garden club members and/or hobby instructors, so you are going to have to ban them with a mod, or the game will generate them for you.
You can find a full list of all sims here. Feel free to make a copy of it to get your spreadsheet started, if you wish!

Although sims don't have elaborate family trees (to avoid extra character files), most sims in this hood were created by combining genetics in CAS, so they have recessive genes! There is neighbourhood story, family album (story mode) in each house, every household and playable sim has a description, but there are no scripted events.

The suggested play order is the one presented in the neighbourhood story, but any is fine. However, I do suggest you at least start from playing the Tian household, to go through with the adoption, as suggested.

Neighbourhood Folder: VERS

To install, put the folder VERS into your Documents > EA Games > The Sims™ 2 Ultimate Collection > Neighborhoods folder

Total Lots: 98
Residential Lots: 72 (including 4 lots meant to be turned into apartments)
Community Lots: 26

The neighbourhood is mostly Asian style, heavily inspired by the Forbidden City and various depictions of China in media, including but not limited to Shang Simla and Takemizu Village. I have also been inspired by other games, anime and pictures I have come across.

The Baiji island has 3 little districts: military, modern and 'beach' [all Kens welcome ]. The rest of the hood is meant to be vaguely 'ancient Chinese', from the outside.

Household information

Total households: 11
  • Tian household: 3 (1 elder male, 1 adult male, 1 child male)
  • Sun household: 4 (3 adult females, 1 teen female)
  • Pan family: 2 (1 adult male, 1 teen male)
  • Sima family: 4 (1 adult female, 1 adult male, 2 teen males)
  • Xi family: 2 (1 adult female, 1 teen female)
  • Chao family: 3 (1 adult male, 2 teen males)
  • Qiu family: 1 (1 teen female)
  • Ning family: 2 (1 elder male, 1 adult male)
  • Gilbert family: 2 (1 adult female, 1 adult male)
  • Thornton family: 2 (1 adult female, 1 adult male)
  • Wizard family: 2 (1 adult male, 1 kitten)

Warning: The Wizard sim knows all service NPC-s I created. There is nothing wrong with that, they were originally regular sims and I turned them into NPC-s, following Jawusa's Tutorial. They are now NPC-s, and some of them cannot normally be interacted with, so there is no point inviting them over, unless their function normally allows interacting with other sims.

Lot information

There are no starter lots in this hood, so if you want to add your own sims, you're going to have to use the apartment lots, or cheat them money. That's not necessarily because all lots are big, but the furniture used was quite expensive, as I mostly used the Far East furniture. Most lots are corner lots, and some lots have basements. Please, don't move the lots with basements, unless you want to rebuild them (they will probably be flooded if you move them).

The 4 lots below can be turned into apartments, by going into buy mode and typing in the cheat changelotzoning apartmentbase
  • Ancient Apartments - 4 apartment units, $1,685-1,854
  • 'Motel' - 4 apartment units, $541 each
  • the one that's similar to Maxis Oceanview - 4 apartment units, $4,599-4,736
  • the one with driveways - 4 apartment units, $7,092-7,964

Note about apartments: If you use a mod that changes it so NPC-s can move into apartments, I suggest you ban the Matchmaker, because the game might spawn another one, if my custom matchmaker moves in.

Note about the military district: The lots are 'fenced' with walls. If you want to have actual gardens in those, I suggest you replace all the outside walls with fences

Let me know if you find any bugs, please! Any feedback is appreciated!

Required mods
Camera Mod

Recommended (optional) mods

The mods below are totally optional, and they are simply my recommendations

Additionally, I assume you have mods like anti-redundancy , no stray respawn, visitor controller, unless you want your game to generate more sims.
