Hi Guys

This doesn't really need testing as its a remake of an old object of mine.

Why have I remade it....?

I was pm'd by tiggerypum who was trying to recolour my 'old' version of this Flagpole. When I took a look at it, I realised how much I have learned about object making in the last 9 months....and just how BADLY this object was made (...sorry ). Not only was the texture map a complete nightmare, but also the polygon count was over 8000 (yes, eight THOUSAND)... sorry again but it was back in the days before we knew about polygon counts...)

So, here is the remake. As the basic design was popular I decised to keep it...but make it better (low polygon) and more 'recolour' friendly.

Made with Milkshape and SimPE v0.50 it has its own unique (registered) GUID so it wont replace anything in your game (not even the 'old' flag!). It is compatable with ALL games and is (obviously) colour enabled.

(new) POLYGON COUNT: 588 (=low=GOOD )


It can be found in Decorative/Wall hangings in BOTH catalogues

The zip file contains EIGHT flags:

Griffindor (default)
Slytherin
Hufflepuff
Ravensclaw
Hogwarts

The Olde order of Cats (To show you asymetrical shapes are possible)
A Two Banner Flag
A Union Jack (to show 'normal' square flags are easy to recolour!)

(Visit HERE to obtain flags of all countries that are perfect for making recolours!). Please do not ask me to make any more recolours....I'm sure that one of the many talented recolour artists here at MTS2 would make them for you if you ask nicely!)

This new flag does NOT replace my original one.
You CAN have BOTH in your game (though I'd recommend replacing them with this low polygon version)


Known Issues: As this was cloned from a painting, it has no 'footprint' (btw, if anyone knows how I can add one, please pm me ) and so your Sims may walk through the flag if they are close to the wall. This does NOT affect gameplay in any way, it's purely asthetic.

Recolour Artists: This flag now uses 'alpha' in the texture, as consequently can be of ANY shape you like!. To recolour, you need to 'mirror' the SHAPE of the flag you want....but the texture (pictures/text) are NOT mirrored.
You will need to make your basic 'shape' (less than approx 230 pixels wide) and 'snap' it to the left edge. Then mirror the shape and 'snap' it to the right edge. Then add your pictures/text to both shapes (NOT mirroed). This is necessary because of the way that real flags are NOT 'mirrored' front and back (or the text/writing would be the wrong was round!).
You will also need to keep the ring holes in EXACTLY the same place as my original texture in order to line up with the rings on the pole.



Recolours: (As with all my objects,) please DO NOT post any files that contain my original mesh.
You are free to post your recolour files (preferably here, in the recolours section). Please pm before posting recolours....I always reply!.. as I love to see what you recolour artists can do with my stuff!

LOTS: Please do NOT include this (or any other of my objects) in any LOT uploads. These are BETA objects, here for testing.

Finally, please do not clone or post on pay/subscription sites
